We get some very beneficial subsidies - much more than any other EU member state.  We also get 29 votes - the highest number of votes in the European Council along with Germany, France, and Italy.  So we get significant influence as well.

Just because some bloke from the press writes that Europe is rubbish and does nothing for the UK doesn't necessarily make it true.

So we get votes in a pointless group?

And has the army ever done anything?

Its like the UN peacekeeping force, who aren't allowed to shoot anyone. What is the point in that?
Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.

The sole purpose of the EU "army" is to protect Europe against military threats; not stand guard in a god forsaken desert somewhere in McMullah land.

The military's there to be flung at the front lines if a direct and outright war against europe breaks out, then instantly forgotten about and their memorials vandalised and ignored once the war's done with.

i live (but not work) in a town which is an old RAF Base and if some toe rag does vandalise a war memorial then everyone is absoloutly devasted and they all even chip in so it can be repaired almost straight away.
Never mind your own business.
