Spore: General / Re: Spore, where will it be released.
« on: October 30, 2006, 08:40:33 am »
I'm really hoping for a simultaneous worldwide release. I really don't see anything that would hinder it, not counting logistics. Sure the publisher may want to rush the release to earn some extra bucks, but the goodwill recieved with one date should make up for that. Plus it would prevent illegal copies being spread to some extent.

Spore: General / Re: Spore Quiz

As some of you wanted a quiz that had more to do with actual Spore game play, a new quiz is available (Quiz 2). This quiz is a bit easier that the other one though I still believe that it is on the hard side. http://www.sporeuniverse.net/quiz.php

Easier?! ;)

I scored 6 out of 10. :-X

Definitely 2007. Once there September or later up until Christmas. I doubt EA would release such an hyped up game in the summer.

Charity is for the weak. If they are weakened, you use that time to crush them like an insect. A small one.

Exactly.

NO!

I like to play protector of the weak. Throwing everything I got at the big and evil while nurturing my smaller neighbours. Until I run out of bad guys that is. :D

Spore: General / Re: SPORE Box Art (EA Australia)

There have been several box arts circulating the net for a while now. Most of them just placeholders. This one however does look more like something we would see in the final version. Looks good.

I first heard about Spore a month or so after the GDC in 2005. Got hooked instantly! This is a game I have been hoping for someone to make for so long!

There's no drought, at least if you know where to look. ;)

If the game is easy to modify I'm sure there will be people that will at least try to dwelve deep into the code and perhaps release similar mods to what you are suggesting.

That's an interesting thought. Right now it's hard to know whether Spore will live on single-handedly w/o expansions or sequels or if it will take either of those paths, or even both. Spore is such a huge game that I personally think it will be a long while before we see a sequel. More probable is a few expansions along the way. The game certainly looks strong enough to be around for years to come after the release.

Hi guys, I'm new. :)

I've been following Spore since it was announced. I even have a little web site for it. This is the place where I got the first taste for the game and I decided to join to interact more. See you around!

There's a definite risk that the game will get boring once you've reached the space stage. But what differs this from other games is that you can go on and explore almmost forever. There will always be new places to visit, new species to discover and new races to interact with. That is what makes this game so very compelling and why I'm looking forward to it so much! :)

...as for them showing the same stuff over and over..what do you expect them to show you every little aspect beginning to end? of course not and i do not know of any game made so far that has showed all that much on it, normally a show or two of the same thing, a couple magazine ads, a sales commerial and if ya wanna see the rest you buy the game

This is the most interesting thing to take into account. They're of course going to show the things that are the most complete. Both for marketing reasons against the consumers and for the fact showing things half done won't get you many PR points with the media. This is a HUGE game people, they need tons of time going through all algorithms to make sure everything runs as it should. There's so many things that can go wrong. No one wants a half finished product, we've seen that so many times the last couple of years in every genre imagineable. I'm for one is glad that we have to wait.

It would be cool with a sentient being without any optical enchancements so to speak on the body. Maybe very strong senses on the extremities, or even an extra sense all together. Much like the Doplhins have. :)
