I've uploaded the wallpapers in the fansite kit if you don't have the bandwidth for the whole package. Plus made a whole lotta new ones, both widescreen and 4:3. Hope you like them. :D

Three more added! :)

Personally I wasn't so keen on the whole giant creature thing in tribe. Sounds a bit too far off.

They both have their charm. What I like about the new one is that it fits very well with the overall theme of the game. I really enjoy the new updated graphics. :)

Spore: General / Re: New PC for Spore

Don't go out and buy a brand PC. The performance will be worse, you'll get a bunch of pre-installed crap, most likely the OS will only come with a backup cd and basically you'll get a bad performance/price ratio. If I were you I'd build it myself (it's really not that hard) and go with the new Intel processors, at least 1 gig RAM and a medium priced video card. Geforce 7600 perhaps? Depends on your budget.

I wouldn't trust what is written on that page, even though it is an offical source. When the date is set we'll be told.

Spore: General / Re: Are we setting ourselves up for disapointment?
« on: November 06, 2006, 03:30:04 am »
To remain on topic I hope we are not setting us up for disappointment. There are numerous signs to support that. Lots of reviewers have played parts of the game and have come back raving about it, a long development period means a better end product, Maxis showing the game at numerous venues showing confidence in the game. And I'm sure there are other things as well.

But it's important to not blindly follow everything that is being said and promised. Just keep an open mind and take it for what it is. A game! ;)

Spore: General / Re: Has spore lost its 'spark'
« on: November 04, 2006, 01:37:31 pm »
I can't really say that I've misplaced my spark for Spore.

It goes in waves really depending on how much info gets out and how much activity there's around the community. My philosophy has always been that if there's no spark you ignite one! :D

I doubt we will se geological activity during actual gameplay apart from perhaps the random vulcanos or similar features. Once you've created a planet it will most likely cool down immediately and you can start populating it.

I'm going to try different approaches. My first game will most likely be a diplomatic and peaceful venture where I will explore the different aspects of the game. The when I get more accustomed with the features my neighbours will begin to taste my wrath. :D

And it depends on the surrounding systems playing style too. If they are agressive they leave me no option but to squish them.

Old news Detoxicated, I have been out since November 18, 1985. God bless you Bill Watterson. :D
