Everything Else / Re: FUD in the USA
« on: July 02, 2006, 02:01:10 am »
It is my humble opinion that the war on Terror is a good war.  The terrorists are a threat to national security and the states of the Union will benefit from occupying such weak and terrorist-ridden nations with a boost to National security (the war zone is "tanking" for us) and the Ameican companies that move in will have a positive growth boost with new contracts and whatnot.  The defense industries are doing a fine business and the welfare of the nation will be boosted greatly.  The countries we invade will be closer to the West and have a drastic increase in Liberty and Westernification (for better or worse).
Although some would argue that this breeds occidentialism (the hatred of the West and the Boursegoise culture that is attatched to it) my book on occidentialism (it's named Occidentialism) says occidentialism actually started in the West with people who wished for the good old days where men were men and cowards did not rise, ect.
America's only mistake was a funding a multi-national, multi ethnic organisation to defeat the outsiders (the West), Al Qaeda.  We should Fund Insurgencies against our enemies that are Nationalist/singular ethnic and so are restricted to 1 country and thus cannot cause too much harm should they go "feral".

Spore: General / Re: Interstellar War

Maybe They could make the Interstellar wars like Hegemonia: Legions of Iron.  Actually it's THE only way they could make it.  Bombard a planet from space until it submits to your rule.  Ground invasions would be very messy and tough on your computer.

Replying to Slugfly I must concur with him.  ByTheWay, insane thing, maybe you could use the spore creature editior to make a highly customisable RTS.  I see Footmen in WCIII with merely given stats X armour, X-5 speed, Y health, Q attack. maybe you could use the spore generator to customise them and give them real stats based on what you give them armour/training/base species

Or we could wait for the Kwisatz Haderarch to conquer the universe for us, but they are quite creepy as Shaddam IV can testify.

They were always doing it in that 90's movie Outbreak.  But it was nessicary to save America from a hemorragic fever, in reality they wouldn't have found the little black and White Monkey that the used to create the vaccine.

PC Games / Re: Anyone know any good MMOs?
« on: May 12, 2006, 10:48:30 am »
I thought that no game other than Spore could bring me as much happiness as it does until i found this:
www.fl-tw.com
This game is everything that i have ever wanted in an mmo. If anyone else agrees with me after reading about it on the site above, please rave on this post or on Infinitys forums. Oh, and it is definately real for those that dont believe it. Check the videos in ther media section and check out the combat prototype, both look/are amazing
oh yeah not coming out for another tyear or two, just saw this thread and it looks like the most appropriate place to post

assuming its complete and theyre just sitting on it until a predetermined date... in a second. If it is not complete, i say give em all the time they need to make a complete game, ive been waitin for a long time, i can wait a little while longer.

Spore: General / Re: what you would want in a demo.
« on: May 10, 2006, 08:30:40 pm »
I would just want a limited 1st stage, that way there would be absolutely no chance whatsoever that i would get bored of any editors or parts of the game, i mean the 1st stage isnt really supposed to take long at all, just would be a cool minigame/dumbed down version of the real creature editor.

what i want to see is kinda small and only in later evolutionary stages (water/land evolution). I dont want there to be just a counter in the top right corner before you can evolve. I want to have to find a mate and physically(in the game) drag the carcass of my prey into the nest. Eventually, after some time, or until enough carcasses have piled up, then your partner lets you mate.

dont worry :). ill just keep your planet as a farm for creatures to be crossbred with a species of walking dildos that ill find later ;D

i voted for other because my creatures will be different from earth creatures in that they will be absolutely rediculous looking and would never actually survive in the wild. The closest earth creature that i can think of would have to be a teacup poodle ie. something that would have absolutely no chance of evolutionary success in a sane world

I voted for the tidepool phase, but not because i want to see more tide pool per say, I just want to see how the types of weapons you pick are personified once you evolve into the sea phase. For example, from sea to land its just the addition of legs, but what happens when you go from cell to sea creature, like certain types of cellular weapons turn into spikes or teeth or something on sea creatures, or is it just a generic creature. This is a big question for me and i would very much like to know what they are planning for it

Spore: General / Re: FLEETS/ARMADAS/WHATEVER POLL!
« on: April 05, 2006, 10:41:22 pm »
In my not so proffesional opinion... Armadas are key. Imagine if you will massive space battles spanning across an entire galaxy... thousands of ships engaging eachother at all times and planets exploding left and right. Now... this may be a gross exageration of anything that is possible but something along this line would add far more depth to the endgame experience
