My dad recommended that I read Mission Earth, a 10-part series by L. Ron Hubbard(the guy that created Scientology).

The first book was mildly interesting, but the rest of the series dragged on and on like an insane rant. I blocked out my memories of reading it, but I remember I got as far as book five before stopping. He wanted me to read Atlas Shrugged next, but I just decided never to trust my dad's taste in literature again.

On a completely unrelated note, is schizophrenia passed down genetically?

I'm reading Stranger right now....

I didn't like the Dune I read. But I'm gonna read the first one after I read Stranger. I'm willing to give it a second chance.

Worst book: Any "Hugo" Books. THOSE PEOPLE HAVE NO TASTE!!!

Now THAT book was overrated. It was confusing and dry and mostly pointless. But if I have to say thee worst book I have ever read, it has to be "Remnants: the Mayflower Project". It was supposedly a young adult science fiction book but it was filled with thee absolute most disturbing things I have ever read. The author graphically described, in complete and horrid detail, how a rabid fetus went and tore a guys leg off.  He described the scene so graphically that I almost threw up all over the book, and probably would have if I hadn't stopped reading and took a 30 minute computer break.

wow. Sounds..gruesome. And EG was not overrated! (Ok, I know, you're entitled to your opinion, but..I still disagree.)

Anyway, have you guys heard of this Twilight book? It's some vampire romance thing by stephenie meyer. She's being called the American J.K. Rowling. Now, I haven't read this book...but it sounds like it's cheesy. The little I know of it sounds kinda bad.

I'm more of an Anne Rice vampire person..

Sarah, Plain and Tall.

I was forced to read it in school in like 3rd grade.  This book single handedly turned me off reading until like one year ago

 :D

That made me laugh. It's just...a fetus?

Isn't that by K.A. Applegate?
The best person ever.  She should have won the Peace Prize.

What? No full control over children? You do realize that some of us have particular plans for those children.

Ok, technically it's not a book, it's a play..but Romeo and Juliet was pretty bad. Even worse, my classmates didn't realize that it was a story about two horny teenagers, not a true love story.

They think they're in love. Thats the point. Juliet is only 13, so it's clearly only a whimsical thing.
