And then a gong sounds and Ovi vanishes, leaving a ripple in space for a few moments after.

I make a lot of maps in my spare time too, but no claims of mine can surpass those tales.

I'd really like to find good ethnic maps of Africa and Southeast Asia, particularly Northeast India and Burma. And someone who can name the capitals of Tajikistan, Brazil, and Tanzania immediately after reading this post, as well as give the etymologies and/or background info for them all without checking any other sources than their own mind.
I came, I saw, I went back to bed.

Oh no! The lore around the legendary UFO King... my grandfather used to keep me entertained for hours with the stories about how you used to map the skies, fighting space dragons and the like.

Also, would you be up for helping us work on RP maps and stuff? There's nothing on the docket right now, but could we keep you in mind for future games?

Some say...

... that he drew a fictional map so good that the real world accommodated it.

Others say he's a dinosaur with a doctorate in Geography.

All we know is, he's called the Ovi.

Dushanbe, Brasilia, Dodoma. I never was too much into toponymy, but I would think Brasilia should be fairly obvious. <.< >.>

Also, I always thought that Brazil was one of the easy ones.

Most people think it's Rio de Janeiro, possibly Dar es Salaam("House of Peace") if they didn't do enough research.

Dushanbe means "Monday" in Tajik, because the town once had a bustling marketplace on Mondays. Dodoma and Brasilia were made the new capitals of their respective nations to centralize government(literally) and encourage inland settlement in Brazil's case.

Sure, I'd love to work on a few RP maps! Reminds me of the time I had to blow up that Greenish-Yellow Plutonium-Scaled Dwarf Dragon because it obstructed my view of Venus.
I came, I saw, I went back to bed.

If you look at Brasilia from top down, it looks like a giant smiley face. :D

Ovi is racking up the score points today. Looks like he'll be taking away the pennantbowl cup. His sponsors at Consolidated Wax Products are sure getting their money's worth tonight.
Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.
