Topic: your creatures you're imagine now

are you going to do your creatures which you have now in mind or which you have now painted later in spore?
i mean, are you going step by step until you get your creature that you have painted/imagined some time ago?

i ask, because i ask me the same. i haven't painted a creature yet, but think nearly every time like "that would be a cool creature for/in spore...", but i then ask me that question above.
it's like a someone says "make a creature that you imagine.." and a another says "no no, let's see what you can do with the tools and let's *decide out from the stomach" (as dem bauch heraus entscheiden) (don't know a better english translation for this german saying... )

i really don't know what way i will chose....

I'll not presume to be able to transfer my creature to Spore right away.  There's always a learning curve involved. For my first creature, I'm likely to just go with the flow and do whatever strikes my fancy at the time I enter the editor.

Then later on, when I'm familiar with the controls and confident in my ability to create what's in my head, we'll see about those critters.

looking at what we know of the controls, I imagine we could make a four legged creature with a near flat, armored back, a mouth on the bottom (center), arms that come out from  below and out the sides, and eyes on either end.

A Kazea should pose no problem, I suppose. But it would feel stupid to create it in Spore.

"Go with your gut" or "follow your gut feelings" is probably closer.

I'm sure at some point I'll try to make the creatures I've invented that were inspired by Spore. But like KMR said, first go around will be a learning experience and I'd rather not get bogged down trying to duplicate something I've already drawn out.

Personally i am just curious to see if i will be able to make my Naucean. I wonder how much i can fudge, for instance adding lots of joints so tentacles work like trunk or the pseudo-mandible made from the top of a skull protruding out like a big nose, then a beak under it. Then simulate the bottom pseudo jaw i could maybe use limb in the shape of a jaw so it will go up and down. Just stuff like that, where you need to use some fun playing with the engine to make things work even if is ascetically only.

I will probably end up dinkin around the first time I play and just create what i feel like. After that game ill play one with the Gracken

Probably just something without planning, maybe in a strange sense my personality will mix in with the creatures.
