Note: The nucleus and other organelles are not visible, but this dosen't mean the microorganisms don't have them (it's an external view).

Ciliognathus

Creator: Ichthyostega

Ancestor: Protosagania

Size: Microscopic

Habitat: Freshwater

Diet: Edible particles, other cells

Reproduction: Bianary fission, conjugation

Ciliognathus is a cilliated organism that has an oral grove shaped like horizontal jaws, which helps it consume smaller cells. It also has the option to filter edible particles.

It reproduces by binary fission, but in certain conditions, like overcrowding and environmental stress, it undergoes a sexually reproductive process called conjugation. It lines up with another Ciliognathus, and fuses together. It then exchanges genetic material. The two ciliognathus detach. The two become four new cells. Paramecia reproduce this way for the same reasons.

Chlorocytus

Creator: Ichthyostega

Ancestor: Protosagania

Size: Microscopic

Habitat: Freshwater

Diet: Photosynthesis

Reproduction: Binary fission

Chlorocytus is an organism that swims in the water with two flagella. It has an eyespot to help direct it to sunlight. It lacks a cell wall.

I knew the animal would have three pairs of limbs! Kind of reminds me of the land vertebrates on my planet Xenos, especially the heckoes, tree-dwelling gecko-like animals.

Three new organisms.

Limb Jaw

Scientific name: Gnathopus gnathocaris
Size: 8 inches long
Diet: Small fish-like animals and small invertebrates.

Limb jaws live in reefs, where their food is abundant. Five pairs of limbs evolved into swimming "fins", like the prehistoric Anomalocaris that lived on Earth. The limb jaw family evolved something unique from other arthropod-type animals on Xenos. Their front pair of limbs fused into a jaw to resemble that of a gnathostome (jawed vertebrate). This helps them hold onto prey better.

Spore Puff

Scientific name: Sporocephalus spp.
Size: 1 foot tall

Spore puffs are fungus-type organisms. They are decomposers. Their method of reproduction is having a sac at the higest point that pops to release spores.

Hex Worm

Scientific name: Hexapodovermis rhodoura
Size: 1 foot and 5 inches
Diet: Omnivore

This is the ancestor of the Xexphe. It is still living. It is called a Hex Worm. Hex worms walk on six-muscular limbs. They have a tridigital manipulator, and a hunting arm tipped with two claws. The hole on one claw acts as an ear. Hex worms raise their blood-colored webbed tail (which will become a chitinous grasper) as a warning that it will attack. If the warning is ignored, the hex worms claw their attackers. But this is only effective to small predators. It is vulnerable to large predators. Their mouth is radial with many rows of teeth, like the Xexphe, and have a tounge with horny teeth called a radula.

After being kind of lazy, I now finished the satilite that was sent to Sagan 4.

It is equipped with artificial intelligence (it looks at anything curious to it). It can zoom in far enough to view the organsms. To get it's energy, the Xexphean satilite has a single solar panel on a roatatable segment. The projection at the rear of the satilite is an antenna that sends transmissions to Xenos and recieve them.

The creature's finally in (with some info changed)!

Name: Sea Floater (Planktoteuthus sarcophaga)

Creator: Ichthyostega

Ancestor: Hydrogen Jellysquid

Size: Small (three feet tall)

Habitat: Wright Reef and Jujubee Ocean

Diet: Carnivorous, predator or scavenger.

Reproduction: Sexual, two genders and is not male or female.

The sea floater decended from the Hydrogen Jellysquid. It grew a hydrogen sac that is so large that it is able to pull the animal from the water. The sea floater can controll how much hydrogen is in the sac using a hole on it's forehead. A muscular flap similar to the human epiglottis keeps hydrogen from escaping. It must stay near the water so it can get it's hydrogen. The sea floater's tentacles that were beneath the breathing holes fused to form an optical tentacle, so it can see it's prey and the direction it's squirting the toxin. It's either a predator (eating anything that moves), or a scavenger. To catch their prey, the sea floater has developed chromatophores like celoid cephalopods on Earth. It can create pulsating patterns to attract prey, or blend in with the water to avoid predators. The four tentacles that dangled in the water are now ambulotory, and lost the poisonous spines. They can still be placed in the water when hunting. The two tentacles next to it's mouth grow longer and likens the appearance of an Earth squid tentacle. It becomes a manipulator. All of their tentacles have chambers filled with air to help their floatation in the air if they float over the water.

Sea floaters reproduce in the same way as their ancestor, the hydrogen jellysquid.

And I can't believe that theres a river named after me!

Name: Sea Floater (Planktoteuthus sarcophaga)

Creator: Ichthyostega

Ancestor: Hydrogen Jellysquid

Size: Small (three feet tall)

Habitat: Glicker-Wright Beach and the ocean between Glicker and Wright I don't know the name of

Diet: Carnivorous, predator or scavenger.

Reproduction: Sexual, two genders and is not male or female.

The sea floater decended from the Hydrogen Jellysquid. It grew a hydrogen sac that is so large that it is able to pull the animal from the water. The sea floater can controll how much hydrogen is in the sac using a hole on it's forehead above the breathing hole. A muscular flap similar to the human epiglottis keeps hydrogen from escaping. It's tentacles next to it's toxin hole fused to form an optical tentacle, so it can see it's prey and the direction it's squirting the toxin. It's either a predator (eating anything that moves), or a scavenger. The four tentacles that dangled in the water are now ambulotory, and lost the poisonous spines. The two tentacles next to it's mouth grow longer and likens the appearance of an Earth squid tentacle. It becomes a manipulator.

The appearance of the Hydrogen Jellysquid puzzles me. I don't know which part's which. That which I suppose is the hole that shoots toxins is above the two stubby tentacles. So Irinya, can you explain all of the parts on the hydrogen jelly squid before I post this creature?

I beleive that the mouth is surrounded by the four tentacles. Is this correct? And is that which I think is a hole squirts toxin?

I said I will send probes, but Hydro told me I should've asked.

Instead of probes, which can obviously touch the planet, I'm just going to send an artificial satilite that only just orbits around the planet, obserbing it. It has the ability to zoom in far enough to view animals and other organisms. It will not touch the planet, just view it. Is that approvable? The probes that were originally set for Sagan 4 are now cancelled.

I'll still do a guest creature, however.

This is a probe made by the Xexphes. It is one of the 5 probes sent to Sagan 4.

Who said you could effect Sagan 4 ?

Plz ask 1st :D

Got it.

Changed.

I shall pay for violating the intergalactic laws which protects the planet. The probes could contain foreign bacteria that could infect the the two remaining micro-organisms. And they could even infect the higher organisms. Is that the case?

These creatures are really cool, and different :) Gotta love creativity. Nice drawing style too, you doing requests?

I might do requests. But I need enough information on what the creature looks like before I draw it.

With more than one creature you should rename your thread "Ichthyostega's Creatures".

yeah, becoase now it looks like this thread is from me  :D

Because of the name "Xenos"... A Greek word for strange.

I'll give you the scientific name of the three-eyed hexaopod: "Triophthalmus hexapodus".

(Picture of fish-like animal to appear here)

Thanks!  ;D

The "very thick muscle" in their legs was inspired by the megasquid's strong legs. The muscle is so strong it'd be tough to chew.

I'll give you a picture of a land vertebrate on the planet the three-eyed hexapod lives in (which is Xenos)

This is a tree hecko. It very much resembles an Earth gecko, with the exception of six limbs and a pair of ocelli, a reminant of another pair of eyes, the fish-type creatures on the Xenos have two pairs of eyes.

Hello. I am Ichthyostega. I've been a lurker for the past week in the Gaming Steve Forum, but as of now I'll be a poster. I am a fan of Spore. I wish it was out.

If you've seen the "Squidman" at Sporewiki, I am the creator. I wanted to make something very different.

And here it is! It's called a Xexphe (formerly called the three-eyed hexapod). They are human-sized sapient invertebrates. They have six locomotive limbs with thick muscle in them.  On their hand, there are three tentacle-like fingers with bulbous tips. Their claws are designed for killing prey. The hole on their claw is designed for hearing. The top claws are designed to grab fruit and small animals from trees. To vocalize, they have a hole on their forehead, air comes in and exales through three holes next near the mouth. The Xexphe's ancestors used vocalizations as a mating call. They sound like growls and croaks. Their ability to speak is not as great as humans.  Xephes are omnivores, just like humans. They have a radial mouth with rows of teeth and a tongue with radula. They breathe with two nostrils next to their third eye that were once gill holes when it's line was in the water. They work like book lungs in arachnids. They build pyramid-like buildings so they can be resistant to earthquakes.
