hopefully everyone has seen the new video that steve posted and was circling for a while b4 that... i was just wondering what the lil bar thing at the botttom of the screen was. Do you think it was specifc for that taster? or do you think it will feature in the game, as a kind of progress bar? i noticed it moved quicker in the tidepool stage which would tie in to the idea of that stage only taking a few minutes. And as each stage was shown the picture (showing the stage) moved further along the scale.  ???

I wouldnt mind seeing it in the game, as long as it doesnt limit the main screen which it seems to do in the video... or maybe as an option that you can turn on or off?

Thinking more, makes sense that it wouldnt move fast in the creature stage as when u increase brain power you move to next stage right? so maybe everytime that happened it would jump up...

what do ya all think?

i found the idea of a molecular pahses interesting as i wondered if would limit your choices later in the game. i cant imagine it doing so otherwise the game could become a lot more complicated, and we know tis game is designed to be simple to play.

i reckon ul just have to collect parts to make a "working cell" (im aware their are lots of working cells... one that could multiply etc), that can then evolve. I like the idea of collectin molecules and them working together. i cant imagine a very good editor, unless your just arranging them to make space for other molecules that you need.

i know this has been argued to be an intelegent design based game and this is adds to that arguement, we guide a molecule to get bigger etc instead of jus leaving it up to chance...

would be interesting if an individual story develops...  so there are 3 rival empires each with their own histories and rivalries and heirarchy, and you join one, and there are battles and alliances and backstabbing. until there is one dominate empire which all the others bow down o etc... each person would get their own very unique game out of it.

does that make sense?

that would make more sense i guess. i am wondering about the galaxy, whether the stars will b in the same place (if they wern't, would the galazy always b the same shape?), whether we will start from the same planetry position each time. i guess thats kinda off thread.

also. if arifacts are key to the technological increases, wouldnt they need to be within (lets say...) a certain radius of your planet? i dont know about u guys, but i wud b major p*ss*d off if i cudnt find the planet blasting gun reasonably quickly because it was ona far off planet... or if you got to the edge of the galaxy and there was some pathetic peice of technology that would have been much more useful in the early stages of the space game...

i reckon that if the artifacts are the key to technological advancements then there will have to be some guidelines to how far away they are/easy to find. Maybe the lowest artifact is on one of the nearest 10 stars... then the next aftifact is a bit further, and so on?

Well we know that your rarely forced out of a stage, and all the stages seem to have had quite a lot of content in so far, so i reckon that there will be quite a few types of building available.
i think i saw a picture of a farm once.
storage houses (granaries),
military bases, airports and docks (for the different vehicles available),
embassies (i cant spell - for the diplomatic among us),
obviously somewhere for the ufo to come from,
research labs (technological upgrades and vehicle improvements - im assumin we get access to land vehicles 1st, then aquatic and then the flying ones... maybe?),
town hall, (will we be able to tax our creatures? if not, how do u think we will get money?)
in the videos we saw defencive structures that shot Will's ufo,
market places?
different types of houses? as you progress maybe your houses can hold more creatures?

any ideas?
would be nice if we got this many buildings.

also, how is it decided where the buildings go? i play LOTR and i like the free build idea there, using builders to actually build. could these come from town hall etc?

i always found it funny when Will stumbles upon that artifact like it wasnt planted there all along. i reckon artifacts could range from technological advancements to useless collectables... how many household appliances have YOU found? I've found 8. 8!? thats nothing, i played for 42hours and i found another one in the distant corner of the galaxy, its the nail clipper and was worshipped by these things with weird heads. yeah i found that one AGES ago... etc

unless someone wiped out all the intelegent life? what do u reckon happens to a planets card once its destroyed? would the card resemble CURRENT stats, or when it was 1st discovered?

If its current stats... would the creature cards evolve with the creatures? or would u have a picture of each stage of the evolution? that could b pretty cool! see how my creature evolved... look! now he has 3 legs and an eye on his tail! incredible!

haha that sounds like a very original film! hmmm *looks around for a homeless guy* pah no luck. how did it end? oh right bk 2 spore! i like the sound of the areana... im gona create 2 seperate pens and fill em wid 2 different types of predator (im assuming they wont attack each other) and then delete the wall dividing them and watch the blood shed from my seat high in the heavens :) who WOULDNT want me as their god?  ???
