I still don't get it. I know what Ecstasy is, I just don't see what the joke is.

Maybe I'm just horribly unexperienced with drugs and there's some pun that I'm missing, but it seems like the joke is that most people take Ecstasy.

Nothing surprising there. I think what has mostly changed is my willingness to admit that if the world would follow God's laws then it would be a better place. I am no longer ashamed to to say that.

No wearing two different fabrics in the same shirt. No letting two different kinds of cattle graze together, or have the same crops in the same field. If you curse your mother or father, you must die. If you cheat on your spouse, both you and your lover must die. Sleep with a woman on her period, guess what? Death! You aren't allowed into heaven if you're blind, lame, have a flat nose, broken hands or feet, a dwarf, castrated, humpbacked... Or have scurvy. If any of your family members even suggest switching religion, kill them. In fact, just go ahead and kill anyone of a different religion. Shaving is a no-no. If a wife attempts to help her husband out of a fight, cut her hand off.

I recognize most of those, but citation is needed for some.  Since you were trying to bait a Christian, here I am.  It's clear throughout the New Testament that the old covenant with all the rules about food preparation, mixing fabrics, cleansing from mold, etc, has been replaced.  There's probably a better example, but I'm tired and the first one that comes to mind is Acts 10 where Peter is told he can eat whatever animal he wants.

Look, its the very fact that there is even something to argue about regarding religion which causes the problem.

I don't think most unreligious people on the forum are against religion in general. Its just that one thing which is sort of inherant in religion is the idea that the one you follow is the correct one, at the exclusion of all others.

Kishmond makes a crack about everyone going to hell, the implicit point being that HIS particular flavour of religion is the correct one and everyone else is a bad person deserving of punishment. When the fact is that there are millions of religions with explanations for what happens after death and there is noooooooo way of knowing which is true (barring a reproducible scientifically verified discovery of an afterlife.)

And no, your particular holy book or dianetics leaflet is NOT evidence.

Anyway, if God's so (infinitely) smart, why didn't he make a book that's impossible to misunderstand and straight to the point? And you're not allowed respond with something like "the bible is the word of god filtered through man," because God should have been smart enough to ensure man didn't screw it up.

You don't have to agree with everything there, but I think it would be hard to disagree with everything.
