I advise that the more talented forum members slow down their creation of whole and complete creatures and start on another project. The design and diagram of theoretical creature parts. Legs, hands, whatchamacallits we don't even have names for yet. It would really help the slow and the stupid among us, such as myself, in our own creative persuits.

Well, the thing is, most us have no frickin' idea what we're doing, either. I say just make something up. Then see if it can be implemented much later on.

Even a picture a month would be nice. Not nececarilly of gameplay. It could be creatures, items, buildings, vehicles, planets, anything!

I'm going to keep my hope low and I'm going to ask for one picture quarterly... which means we should be due for a picture in september...   ;)

I know! I'd like more concept art and design docs. I don't know 'bout you, but I love that kinda thing. Back when Interplay was still making Fallout 3, they had a lot of leaked stuff, which I'd love to see with Spore.

I vote for mantis-esque pincers. I don't know what mantises really do with those, but these would be razor sharp and decapitate things.

Probably a bunch of tiny little graspers. (boy, an octupus or squid will be one complex creature with all those bones and graspers!)

Y'know, I've always wondered what it's like to poke an octopus in the head. I know they're mollusks, but I'm not sure whether they have some sort of skull. Maybe their head is squishy. That'd be fun.

Their head is completely squishy. Their entire bodies can fit through a hole the size of one of their eyes.

First of all, that isn't their head. Its their entire body including every one of their internal organs.

Second, they have nothing like a skull. The only hard part in an octopus is its beak. Its a big sloppy bag of squish.
Squid and cuttlefish, on the other hand, have hard stuff like the cuttlebone. Its a long piece of something akin to shell.

Heh, yeah. I've dissected squid before, it's only like a thin sheet of plastic. And actually, that is their head. Cephalopods. In other words, for unenlightened, is feet-on-head.

I've always assumed that octopi have squishy heads, never knew the truth. Didn't want to make an ass out of u and me.
