Seems like the baby creature procedural walking isn't done yet.  They all seem to scuttle sideways.

This sporeonline.de people actually did a great job on their video recording of the Leipzig presentation.  They zoomed in at the right times and had pretty good quality throughout - minus a few seconds towards the beginning, and the camera problems at the end.

I think the second one would have been better if the legs and arms were changed over, but thats just me.

At least we know what to expect from the masses when the game is released.

Is it me, or does the first creature have flowers for breasts?

I find that highly disturbing.  :-\

I don't understand the elitist hate going on here. All too soon you'll all have spore and nobody's creatures could possibly live up to your impossible expectations. Will you spend your days hating each other's creatures?

Seriously, watching these people struggle with the editor, its obvious that the controls are not as easy to learn as you would make them out to be. And whoever made the first creature appeared to have a clear vision of what they were trying to accomplish (something cute/humorous), searching for parts that resembled what they intended. IMO it looked bad primarily because they were inexperienced with the editor and didn't have time to get things right. Creature 2 was getting pretty cool, before it crashed on them.

Just chill, people.

The only thing I liked about the first video was the godfather song in the background about halfway through.  He wasted his time on rotating the hands for about 3 minutes which frustrated me, but I understand that it was his first time with the editor.

The second one was probably the only good creature, too bad it crashed.

The third one...well...it was childish.

I dont know if anyone else noticed, but on the editor some parts would randomly change sizes and parts of the body would temporarily dissapear.  They will probably have those problems worked out, but once again the bodies are looking stiff while the creatures are walking.  I also was puzzled by how there is another person there that keeps telling you to do stuff on the editor and pointing at the screen.  I would get so pissed at the person if I was in that position.

Is it just me, or does everyone choose the texture from the first column?

EDIT: I really hope this isn't a sign of creatures I'll see in the game.

it is because when they were scrolling the mouse wheel to change the part they were on, they moved the mouse to that part on accident, hence changing the size of that part instead

I noticed a flaw in the first one. When he models it, the hands change size every now and then(and NOT because he changes it).

You know I'm sure they were trying to make the one hand rise up but didn't know how to make the symmetry button work...
