Yeah. I own a dictionary so that I have more room in my tiny meatbrain for more important things, like anime tiddy.

Personally, I think there needs to be more veterans, if they're going to keep acting as a city military rather than a protective service.

At least with actual military personnel, they'll have had training! As it is, most cities don't have the time or funding to train their policemen properly, so they act like this.

Best case, though, would be to overhaul the system to flush out the infected climate of "protect your fellow officers above the law", get rid of the militarization, and engage in more community work to integrate the police force into the city, rather than have it act as, basically, an occupying force, separate from the people it's 'supposed' to protect.

* Doctor Z is thankful for the internet to fulfill his sci-fi and entertainment needs.

* Doctor Z doesn't have a TV, actually.

World gen continues (for the most part) into play, so things like succession, births, etc, don't stop once you set out as an adventurer or start a fortress.

Trees are now multi-tile monstrosities.

Creatures can climb walls now, so a one-tile-high wall won't keep the goblins out.

Those are the things that stick in my head, but there's a thousand and one other changes as well, and everything is broken and it's horrible because it's a major update that changes everything and had not been tested by more than two dudes yet.

From what I understand, yes. Though my understanding of both what "agent-based" means in the nitty gritty, and what Banished does, is a little... lacking.

I can tell you that each person is a single entity, and they have seperate wants/desires/needs, however bare-bones they are (Basically, food/heat/tool/clothing, as well as happiness/health stats that are affected by diversity of food and various structures you can build), instead of a statistical approach of "Well you have 10 sick people so we'll select ten people to display sickness."

If a bloke goes across the map to get iron and thereby gets hungry, it'll be him getting hungry, not some other guy. Diseases are also like that, only people near someone sick have a chance of catching it themselves. (Don't quote me on that. I know it's at least MUCH MORE likely for someone really close to get sick, but it may well be possible for someone somewhere else to catch it)

However, people don't have skills or anything like that. If you need a blacksmith, you turn one of your people into a blacksmith, and he'll be as adept at blacksmithing as someone doing it for 20 years, all things being equal. (Same tool level, same happiness/health, and live the same distance away so one isn't spending more time walking than the other)

It's fun but a little bare-bones. Hoping the mod-kit comes soon, what's there is polished and it looks like a good platform.

People outside of the US, how do your countries handle minimum wage?
In The Netherlands, the government sets a minimum wage, per day, week and month according to the government's website. And they update the prices twice a year. Current minimum wage for people 23 years old and older is €68.57.
That sounded absurd, so I looked it up.

You know we're talking about per hour and not per day, right? We're not living off ten dollars a day over here. :P

Things like the college stuff is why I want to win the lottery, so I can invest it all and live off like, a week of investments for the year?

And with the rest of it, toss it at people like Pat who need money to better their life, but can't get the money because they're below a feedback-loop threshold. (ie. that old problem of "Need experience to get a job, need a job to get experience")
