Oh No!!! They are making a children's version of the Future is Wild, with CGI kids who say stupid things like Dora and look at the non-violent versions of TFIW creatures!
-
How is the future is wild not suitable for children? I watched that when I was 13. What age group does that channel aim at?
-
Me too, when I was eight or so!
-
There is no off topic TV topic, we don't need that. I changed the title of your thread.

Well, the off topic topic started with a discussion on Stalin.
-
No it started because of an off topic discussion in another thread and I split it off to make that topic. It did not start out as an off topic/topic.
-
And on the eight day she rested...
Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Why do they need to make a children's version of everything?
Dumbing down TV just makes the children that watch it...well...dumber.

My feelings exactly.

Unless you have a link, I'm not believing any of this.

I actually originally read it in a magazine that a younger cousin of mine had.
-
Am I the only one who thought that The Future is Wild was just plain terrible?
-
Looked cool to me.

Where is this? Someone link me.
EDIT: Found it. ICK!! :-\

My eyes... my ears.... That was horrible.
-
D...I'm sorry, did they just gay up a perfectly good TV show with the Incredibles?
Hands shall clamp throats.
-
Oye... jesus. Seriously, someone had to of spoken up and said "Are kids here for the animals or the huge spaceships."
Oye, if something needs to be sugar-coated to make it presentable, then it really isn't worth watching...

What do you mean by a freaking sugar coating? What was so terribly bad about the actual show? Too realistic for children? Good god, this is stupid.

Wow...I felt somehow reminded of a pokemon opening...

What...
The...
Hell...

I think the song is catchy. I can see myself humming it later.
Although the characters are atrocious.
-
my soul...it hurts...
-
...
A part of my soul just died. :'(
-
The characters look like they belong in those annoying super hyper "Lunchables" commercials.

my soul...it hurts...
A part of me died :(...a very large part of me.

This, if nothing else, proves to me that America is doomed.
DOOMED.

*Throws up on Yannick*
Its like what Cartoon Network does to DC comics!

Sorry to bump, but I just found this thread, and it confirmed a nightmare of mine.
About 2 months ago, I was in a hotel while my family was moving. It was very late, like 3 AM, and I couldn't sleep, so I turn on the TV. Guess what shows up on the screen? These poorly made CG kids checking out an equally poor quality Great Blue Windrunner like something out of "Zaboomafoo" or "Dora the Explorer" or some other cruddy kid's show along those lines. Needless to say, I was disgusted within seconds and began surfing.
For the longest time I thought it was just a dream... *shudder*
*crosses fingers* Don't let them do this to Alien Planet, pleaaaase!
-
To bad, Here's an article showing a poll that mums think Alien planet is to violent and should be more cartoony.

It looks like a lot of fun. If I were a kid I'd so rather watch that then the "adult" version.
-
Well, while that was a horrible slap in the face of science, look on the bright side. It'll attract kids to the topic and mabey it will actually have decent information in it. Who knows, mabey it will be the next generation's magic school bus. After all, they need better educational television for kids than dora.

Isn't Dora that freak with the head that must be somewhere near as massive as Jupiter? I saw a toy of that thing in the shops yesterday and it looked like it was about to fall on this little kid because the head weighed so damn much :-\
The Magic School Bus did dumb science down but as if any child would actually understand it if it hadn't. I guess the did an alright job.

As I watched this, I heard the cries of a thousand flish cry out in the eternal suffering of the endless deep sorrow, eyes chared out in a seering fire, and cast down beyond the unrelenting, unfathomable depths of a dark, fiery eternal, hellish doom of cruel damnation, in the armagedon of blackened infinity!
-
You're acting like all of us were speaking like this.
Also, do you see any of us swearing and insulting like that in our posts. :/ It's really irritating to read, worse than leet speak even.

Don't be so cynical. I know that kids TV kinda sucks, but The Future Is Wild kids version is the wrong show to hate. Its artistically stunning, a real achievement for Discovery Kids, and while sure, maybe it has a few redundant episodes, it has a lot less than most other kids shows. It seems a little cliche, but its actually not so. The characters get a lot more likeable as it goes along. It deserves another season.
Its a show that challenges human survival in a lot of neat ways.
I think its pretty ****in unique by the industry standards. I hope you guys don't just write to hate and be smug. Cynicism sells, but it doesn't make you grow an inch is all. ;)

That was a very detailed write-up for why we shouldn't be cynical. However, it won't stop me from hating this show. Snark Snark Snark. ;)

Why did you move your post under mine?

'Limeade Syndrome'.

They just need to stop with the remakes of cartoons.
