Actually I am going to start a new game right nowish, turn on god mode and noclip, and see what I can see.

**EDIT**
OKAY I DID IT! It wasn't that great. The world ends right after the Minuteman statue and up towards the Vault there's not much else. Though there was this oddity by the vault door:

There's this goofy bubble around the Vault entrance, though the actual door/elevator is missing.

And the view inside the bubble.

Anyway, that's it. Can't say I expected much more. Was appointed.

Am I the only one feeling there's a lack of dark comedy in this game?
If you stop and think about it, Your life's longer as an old guy than a kid. Scary o.o

Building is pretty much the shallow feature I'd expected. It's like AC3 where the only point of upgrading it is to upgrade it more.

That and adhesive farms but I mean you'll pick up enough glue and duct tape that it's a net loss of time I'd say
No, no, he did. In the everything else section, at least. Officially, this makes him king.

I've actually been bone dry on adhesive for nearly my entire playthrough, mind you all my perks have gone into every crafting perk and I've been upgrading a ton of weapons but i'm still normally strapped for adhesive whenever I need to use it for something

I dunno. I've got the local leader perks now, and I have a few stores going in my settlement, plus a bunch of crafting stations. Every time I come back I can pick up another hundred caps or so, plus if I dump all my junk in the workstation, I can access all the materials for crafting from any of the stations.

Plus, the stores are pretty good in their own right.

What do you buy? I have like 3k caps and can craft anything better than what is in shops

Spend the caps on constructing a mint and start making real money that doesn't rust and isn't laughably easy to counterfeit by someone who has access to a soft drinks plant.

Sam is basically right, he's just cranky.

The building is pretty lame and it is slightly better than some of the best construction mods that older Fallout and Elder Scrolls games have had.

Which is very exciting in my opinion. There's a good base here. The mods are going to be amazing for this game.

**EDIT**
So anyway, yeah I am liking this game. It's... okay? But I am not having a super duper time.

Okay does anyone else feel like the menus were not optimized for mouse and keyboard? Why do so many menus require me to hit enter or escape? Some let me use tab to go back, some don't. They keep switching the affirmative/negative commands without much rhyme or reason.

Oh yes the controls are ****ty as hell for the pc. Even oblivion had the ****ing 8 pointed hotwheel for the pc because the game is basically a console port
