List of things in 40k that would make an interesting movie:

Arbitrators
Rogue Traders
Basically any Imperial Guard
Adeptus Mechanicus
Inquisition
Necromunda
Private Detective on Hive World
Sisters of Battle
Gorkamorka
Heretics
Tau Sympathisers
Mercenaries
Titans
[etc]

The only thing we will ever see 40k movies about:

Fat Space Marines

Yes, but as a filthy casual I don't know what any of those are.  I could make a few educated guesses.  But I do know about Spess Marines.
Probably not a Goat, either.

Well technically that was not a space marine but a grey knight. Which yeah I know is akin to a Space Marine. But is a bit like saying a Adeptus Custodes is a space marine. (Wait... I think people might get confused by that to...)
Check out my Creatures.
The Ęthirans
The Echin
The Jinnivons

It would be cool if we had a Marvel movie type deal where we had a bunch of movies about a singular topic. Probably one per major race- an Eldar movie, an Ork movie, a SPESS MARINE movie, a Chaos movie. Maybe more specific than that- about specific chapters and factions instead of races. Then have event movies where two or more of them interact. A Horus Heresy movie, for example.

I've never even played Warhammer 40K in any form, nor am I that familiar with it, but I think that might have been a better idea.

Spaces Marines are the most marketable according to Games Workshop,so if this a successful expect to see endless movies about spess marines fighting for the emperor!

also matt ward somehow will end up writing the film

The horror!

They all suck compared to THUNDER WARRIORS.

I'd say your multi movie shared universe is a wild pipe dream, but if the Warcraft movie does well, it could be more of a possibility.

I don't think the Warcraft movie will do well.

Ink's right. Also if you were gonna do multiple sub-franchises you'd be better off just focusing on humans because most of the alien races are just weird dumb monsters.

Seriously an Ork movie would just be hundreds of orks yelling "orks!" and "Waaaaaagh!!!" at each other and knocking each other about. Then a really big one would yell at them all and they'd jump on a meteor and invade a human world.

Millions of people still  play WOW,so I think it will probably sell to those that still play it

That said wow has lost a lot of players but Blizzard is hardly unpopular.

ergo, more people WOW then play with warhammer models

Right, but how many of those basement dwellers go out in public to a movie theater?

Insulting snarkiness aside, I think you're going to need to win over more than the existing fans to earn enough for a franchise.  If I didn't know what Warcraft was, I'd think the movie looked like the generic fantasy movies that get dumped this time of year before blockbuster season starts.

On the other hand, they've made like 8 Underworld and Resident Evil movies, proving you can make a franchise out of dumb grimdark action, so maybe 40k could work.
Probably not a Goat, either.

They're not making a Microsoft Solitaire movie.

The Warcraft movie is going to be dog**** and Warcraft fans will hate it even more than us muggles. They won't make it into a franchise because it's more expensive to make than those Resident Evil movies and they're not getting German tax breaks.

Actually talking about the short, CG animation of realistic human characters is a futile endeavour and the SPAZE MAHREEN doesn't even have the requisite English accent. Zero character, zero soundtrack and it was all CG so zero on costume, prop and set design.

MOVIES ARE TERRIBLE STOP WANTING THEM.
Not a winner anymore.
