It's an indy Sim game.
BanishedOr city builder strategy. Whatever.
It's a colonial town builder. You start off with X amount of people, depending on difficulty, and you are put into a swath of untamed land. Survive, build, thrive.
Wood, stone, and iron are the main resources. Food as well, and firewood. You have to build their houses, farms, hunting cabins, storage areas, fisheries, tailor, blacksmitm, etc.
The tutorials are easy enough to follow and do a nice job.
Now, it has taken me a bit to get started since getting the hang of the mechanics (ie, schools to educate youth so they can do more than labor, cost me a generation), but overall I'm having a fun time.
I've tried jumping right in hard, but find I can't keep up with food requirements since I can't farm due to lack of seeds. My medium start is going well since I have decided large farms each year can ensure enough food rather than a slew of hunting and gathering lodges. Just need to somehow get a trade post in hard mode to get seeds before I reach critical mass. But I digress
The game has solid mechanics, and allows for some decent micromanaging. Figuring out how things work and what the best strategy you'll take up is a lot of fun.
Fires will end your map, though. Wells don't do **** or I can't figure it out idk yet,
