The Switch is looking to be a home run, the handheld seems to be winding down, and the sky's the limit for Pokemon hopefully.

Anyway. They released more info on Splatoon 2, seems like it'll be a solid franchise from Nintendo so that's neat

Still hoping for Pokemon

This game is fun and if you can you should play it

There is going to be dlc to discuss too, so that'll be fun.

For instance, hard mode looks pretty lame considering how weapon durability works so just having spongier enemies is pretty uninteresting. The tracking your map though is pretty damn great so lame that they'd make you pay for it

Yay Nintendo..?

Games good tho

Planet Coaster is an okay game with shallow management mechanics but deep coaster design.

Parkitecht is in early access but is shaping up nicely.

RCT is dead

Hey guys,

We should do a podcast. We have great cast between us, enough that we could probably herd 4-5 people together at a scheduled time. Enough so that not everyone would have to participate every week if they don't want to, but not so many that it would be unruly if they did.

Idk, I like talking about games, I think you all do to or you wouldn't stick around at this point. It seems like this site gets views from somebody so maybe they'd listen to us and tell others to since we have such fun **** to say :)

I think we all have fun stuff to say about them, and I think a live-discussion each week would be something worth exploring. We could aim for a 45-1 hour show, talk about games and whatever else comes up as most formats seem to allow.

Let me know if there's any interest in this, maybe we could even ask Steve to route us as a related channel to help with initial listener count

I'd be down, Monday and Tuesday afternoons PST are best for me; we could wrangle up a skype or discord chat and record it like ThreeMovesAhead does.

We can do this I think, and I believe even have some minor amount of success in garnering a few listeners. It'd be worth my time just to chit chat with ya'll weekly about what we're playing, what we're looking forward to, what we think of current games/new games/games news that pops up

Art / A Favor? Logo?

Hey all,

Writing a business plan for a late night delivery cookie business here in Seattle. Working name is Midnight Snack Cookie Co, but subject to change. If you have a good name suggestion I'm all hears there too

Would any of you be willing to put together a quick logo? If it's something we end up using or asking you to touch up or anything we'll compensate and probably ask for other odds and ends to be commissioned

Pm if you want more details, or whatever,

Thanks

There isn't a topic and there should be.

KOQ#1607

I like this game quite a bit and am looking forward to the new expansion. I sometimes watch the tournaments if I happen to have the time to kill, it's entertaining.

I usually stick to The Arena since it's the best game mode imo, and the most 'fair'. I usually will play each month to rank 20 to roflstomp the noobs and get easy quest rewards/win-streaks. After that I'm basically SoL since I don't have many cards, Leeroy is my only legend, no solo adventure packs, and I can't seem to break out of 20 haha

Still it's fun stuff. Tavern Brawl really helps me clear quest and win streak gold later in the month since once I'm rank 20 I'm out. I really like them and the free pack is really nice.

Good stuff. I'll take any of you 1 on 1

Go Marvel. Go Netflix.

This was a baller show.

Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin is downright chilling. The rest of the cast holds up, too, especially Wesley.

Seriously, this show is dark, gritty, and fun.

Excellent job, cant wait for the rest of the Defenders.

Honestly, this game is bomb.

It's like if Baldurs Gate 2 was slightly less epic, but way smoother, better put together, and had more options.

Combat is difficult to start, but if you decide to get into it you'll eventually be mowing down enemies in a flurry of position reliant spells. Magic works with the X per rest, but some abilities can be used X per encounter, which makes for more tactical game play that is rewarding to grapple with and master. Seriously, once players get a party of 6, things really take off.

The story is good, the writing is actually good as well. It's compelling, it gives you many decisions that hit almost every range you could think of, it provides many stat-based chat interactions (I believe their occurrence is as follows: Resolve>Perception>Intellect>Might>Dex&Con; then there's also Lore>Survival>Athletics>Mechanics>Stealth). These can all lead to unique interactions that will give different outcomes. They're present in almost any quest, and really make you feel rewarded for actually being able to use your Might to further the plot without killing fools.

Stat allocation is linear, which is neat. The classes are all pretty unique but there's definitely some stand-outs. They're all pretty fun to play though, besides maybe a Fighter. The rest of the character creator is pretty extensive, too, with background and culture being additional choices that will have minor effects such as additional chat options, stat changes, and starting equipment.

Seriously though, the story, it's good. Especially near the end, the game poses a sort of unique scenario in which idk, I kind of resonated with and considered. It's fun, and worth the time to explore.

So this game came out and I pretty much am hooked.

You create a party of four and play an isometric RPG with turn based combat. Story so far has been interesting, it is absolutely dripping with atmosphere, too.

Traveling is a bit of a pain without certain skills, and don't get attatched to your first, or really even second party, you'll find things you could improve heavily. Min maxing on certain characters seems to be the way to go since a jack of all trades will NOT scale well into the mid game.

Overall it's really fun and a great addition to the iso RPG catalogue.

Pick it up on sale if you're patient, pick it up now if you want to play a good RPG

PC Games / Banished
« on: February 19, 2014, 07:28:48 pm »
It's an indy Sim game.

Banished

Or city builder strategy. Whatever.

It's a colonial town builder. You start off with X amount of people, depending on difficulty, and you are put into a swath of untamed land. Survive, build, thrive.

Wood, stone, and iron are the main resources. Food as well, and firewood. You have to build their houses, farms, hunting cabins, storage areas, fisheries, tailor, blacksmitm, etc.

The tutorials are easy enough to follow and do a nice job.

Now, it has taken me a bit to get started since getting the hang of the mechanics (ie, schools to educate youth so they can do more than labor, cost me a generation), but overall I'm having a fun time.

I've tried jumping right in hard, but find I can't keep up with food requirements since I can't farm due to lack of seeds. My medium start is going well since I have decided large farms each year can ensure enough food rather than a slew of hunting and gathering lodges. Just need to somehow get a trade post in hard mode to get seeds before I reach critical mass. But I digress

The game has solid mechanics, and allows for some decent micromanaging. Figuring out how things work and what the best strategy you'll take up is a lot of fun.

Fires will end your map, though. Wells don't do **** or I can't figure it out idk yet,

So rather than continue to treat the off topic - topic as a place to share my weekly stories (should there be any), I think a dedicated thread would be more inviting.

The basis of this thread is to just share any sort of interesting event that is taking place with you right now or last week or whenever. Current events are much more fun since our input (if we have any, not that you care what we say at the end of the day (that's the fun!)) would be more relevant and maybe helpful.

That's it I guess. If you did something interesting, have some reoccurring life drama that's not a real problem (see: Personal Problems thread), partied hard and have a story from last night, went to some show and had an epiphany, met a cure girl and landed a date, went to a fun improv show after party, saw this waitress at a restaurant you frequent at an electronic show and danced with her, etc.

I mean most of us are pretty young so there's still stories to be had at some point, so why not share them with us as they happen? Advice is cool, but not required since that's not the point of this thread.
