Some venting is in order.
So we had some secret santa event in our department as some kind of after work event. Basically everyone buys or produces some little thing wraps it in and then everyone gets a gift at random, so it's like a surprise.
Now the thing is, I believe I got the most uninspiring, boring, stupid and ****ty gift ever gifted during secret santa. It was just a 0.2l bottle of Korn. Like seriously, that's it. Not even a funny modification on it or something. Just the bottle.
I was so mad I considered just passive-aggressively leaving it there when leaving, but instead I just gave it away to someone else. I mean, other people also got lame junk, but at least it was either remotely funny or at least somewhat original in its own way. A bottle of run of the mill alcohol you can buy in literally every supermarket ever is none of that.
Bah.
(I guess the bright side is that I don't have to feel bad about my own present. Some people really poured a lot of work into their gift and crafted something unique. I basically "just" bought something. (Though I spent a whole evening looking for just the right thing.) I would have been so embarassed if I would have gotten one of the bucketloads-of-work gifts.)
