You're a comedy guy, Sgore! Stick to what you're good at. Because this topic, while being a joke, isn't one of your best.
Pat, you make a lot of valid points in your post, but this is probably the one I'd have to take some personal issue with. I didn't mean this thread as a joke. Over a month ago, I posted it in a joking manner, clearly, and I am sorry if that came across inappropriately or in any way disrespectfully, but I sincerely wanted to get into talking about sports. It's something I truly have developed a bit of a newfound interest in, but don't really know where to start. I was never really encouraged much in the athletics department in school, and while I never had anything against the field, I never really followed it much either. I've always enjoyed the conversations on this forum, and I thought it might be fun to see how people here would approach this subject, but I definitely never meant it as a spam topic. I'm sorry if it came across that way.
Regardless of reputation, though, I don't think anyone here need be restricted by their past posts in terms of what topics they can or can't post on.
If you started a topic on Jazz, I wouldn't call you out on never showing an interest in it before. In fact, I'd probably be elated. Just no Kenny G, please. I beg of you.
(I do thank you for the comedy compliment though.)
The rest of your points are, like I said, completely valid. If it's okay with you, however, I think I'd like to leave this thread up. I'd be happy to change the opening post if you have any suggestions, perhaps to encourage a more constructive discussion, but I still feel like some good conversations could come out of this.
