call me childish, but i sniggered
« on: May 29, 2007, 03:19:15 pm »
Quote from: BBC news
Post Office staff in Hasland, Chesterfield called in police when they heard the package making a noise.

Mansfield Road was closed off for an hour and a half while the bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion

Bomb squad officers called in to blow up a suspicious package found it contained a packet of chocolate buttons and a vibrator

Honestly, somtimes i think people are too scared of Terrorists, i mean, honestly, blowing up a sextoy.

is the world going insane!

Yes. We are all going to die out of our own paranoia of each other.

That exact same thing happened a few years ago at the local post office on the beach. It was shut down and traffic re-routed for hours. It also turned out to be a vibrator.  :D

Is there anything a vibrator can't do?

I'd ask "Who would send a vibrator through the post?" but I just remembered that Amazon would.
Not a winner anymore.

I think the bigger question would be who would send a vibrator with the batteries installed already they weren't testing it before sending it were they?

Although perhaps less funny, the same thing happened in my town a few weeks ago (although the package contained a coffee maker).

Of course, the person also conveniently left their coffee maker in a suspecious package underneth a fuel tanker right next to the courthouse.

 :D

Needless to say, the bomb squad had to be called and the package was destroyed. The man has been reimbursed for his coffee maker.
