Although perhaps less funny, the same thing happened in my town a few weeks ago (although the package contained a coffee maker).
Of course, the person also conveniently left their coffee maker in a suspecious package underneth a fuel tanker right next to the courthouse.
Needless to say, the bomb squad had to be called and the package was destroyed. The man has been reimbursed for his coffee maker.
