I'm genuinely honored! Not including the group discord, I've only posted a couple on other sites (reddit/twitter), but I may put these elsewhere at some point. (I do still have that SmackJeeves account I haven't updated since 2016...)
I know forum activity is flat-out stagnant, but I really do still prefer small to mid-size community hubs to the giant social media platforms. There's ironically, a lot more factionalism and a lot less room to grow there. The flagship sites can absolutely be useful and fascinating, (and I totally see the benefits in putting work there, don't get me wrong), but as a home base they're rather hollow and restrictive. Too gamified in a way I don't like (and I say that as someone who likes other kinds of gamification).
It's like having to workshop a musical you're still writing and re-drafting by premiering it on Broadway to theater critics and fellow performers who can and will torch you at full blast in front of strangers if you happen to piss them off that day.
I don't have the energy to navigate the in-group/out-group politics of that right now.
For now, I'm practicing getting out a steady output, which is easier if I'm allowed to try things out in a room with people I trust.
Maybe at some point though! Thank you!
