The Cryttors
Cryttor without crystal shellThe Cryttors are the result of creatures who began hiding inside crystals for protection against dangerous radiation from the star Opos. They live on planet Ukora, under a big layer of rocks, crystals and metals. They are known for their amazing digging skill. Their claws are so strong that they can break metal. They have invented some small spaceships capable of traveling to other planets in the Opos system.
BiologyThe Cryttors are, without their crystal protection, tiny tuscan-red lizard-like creatures with big black claws on their front pair of legs. Their diet contains small creatures and eggs. They are about 40 centimeters long, their tail is 15 centimeters. They have two pairs of eyes and one pair of nostrils. The front eyes are for looking in the dark, because they reflect much light. The other pair of eyes is for seeing more colors, because the front pair is colorblind. During the day, his front eyes are closed.
HistoryAt first, the Cryttors were worm-like creatures living near the core of Ukora. As Opos began to radiate, they digged closer to the core. Eventually, they could not go deeper, because of the extreme heat. And they also could not go up, because of the radiation. So they developed ways to survive the radiation. One of them was hiding in crystals, which was the only one that worked until. But, during the radiation, the Cryttors became dependent of the crystals. They became slower, so the predators could catch them easier. So they kept the idea of hiding in crystals. Their society evolved, from tribes to galactic colonists. During this, they exterminated the predators and found ways to get on the surface. At the point that they could make spaceships, they were the only creatures on Ukora. So they started colonizing other planets, with creatures to eat. Today, they are the rulers of the whole Opos system.
