Movies / Kingdom of Heaven

Has anyone seen this movie?

I saw it a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I was expecting a pure action film, but when it ended I really felt like I had seen a very well done film. I dunno... it was one of those rare films that felt 'just right' to me. My friend also seemed to like it quite a bit, despite having a less... biased opinion than mine.

Anyway, I was wondering what other people thought. Discuss.

Spore: General / My 4-4-05 Trip to EA

So today my class got to visit EA for a tour and to see some concept art for upcoming projects. As neat as that was, one of the coolest parts was meeting one of the executives from this EA branch (in Redwood City). Basically he mentioned Spore (but not by name) and he mentioned feathers!

To paraphrase what he said: We have a new game Will Wright's working on that not only uses procedural animation, but the players can actually create the designs of their character. They can design the skin and feathers and such.

Of course, this isn't word-for-word, and being that EA has about 46 different games in development at the moment, I can imagine him being somewhat inaccurate. Still, for all those flight hopefuls, this is good news.

So, in trying to stay current with all the posts people are making, the "Show unread posts since last visit" link has become one of my best friends. However, I notice that it doesn't actually cover all my unread posts.

As an example, when I click that link I have about 15 unread topics in various threads, but when i go to the forum main page and click on the Spore thread I have nearly 30 topics with new posts. Is there a reason for this happening? is this discrepancy intentional? I tend to click on a thread (i.e. pc games, everything else, site news) and if I see that there are too many posts I put off reading them for another time, but then that thread shows up as 'read'. Could this be messing things up?

Man, I feel like such a forum n00b. Any suggestions/advice/fixes from anyone?
