TV / MADtv vs. SNL?
« on: August 28, 2005, 02:51:12 am »
Just a matter of opinion?

SNL is definitely not as funny as before though they have better guests in my opinion, but Michael Mcdonald or Bobby Lee from MADtv always cracks me up.

Favorite MadTV sketch was probably when Will Sasso came back to do a parodied version of the Apprentice with Kenny Rogers :D

Console Games / Super Smash Bros. Melee : The king of all party games?
« on: August 28, 2005, 02:24:53 am »
I've been playing it since it came out with my friends, and it NEVER gets boring. And we always find new stuff to master. Now fighting is a lot harder when everyone's mastered the air dodge and can kill with the supposedly weak characters (bowser/donkey kong). I've played link over the last few years and now I'm using falco, he's fast and his smash is insane, his high dropping speed is helpful for dodging projectiles and he can also reflect samus's giant laser ball of DOOM.

So anyone wanna share moments they've had with SSBM and their favorite characters?

Everything Else / Lessons Learnt from Video Games
« on: July 29, 2005, 11:01:16 pm »
I love video games and to refute the opinion that you learn nothing from video games I'll tell them my lessons learnt. I've learnt a lot from violent video games.

1. Battlefield 2 shows how horrible war is. Disagree? Try spawning in artillery fire 10 times in one map.

2. The half life series taught me the importance of the crowbar - god's gift to men.

3. GTA series taught me that no matter how many people you kill (without cheats), sooner or later you'll get pwned by the military.

4. WoW taught me the importance of friendship, which can help you get away with ninja looting an epic or two

5. Ninja Gaiden taught me what it was to be a ninja. I don't like dying so I guess I won't be one.

6. Conkers Bad Fur Day taught me not to abuse alchohol.

Share YOUR lessons learnt from video games and show people that no! video games aren't mindless! they're also stupefyingly educational!

PC Games / Your Gaming Rig?
« on: July 24, 2005, 01:48:19 am »
AMD Venice Core 3500+ processor
DFI Lan Party Mobo
2gigs of OCZ Platinum Ram
eVGA Geforce 7800gtx<------- It is my love. I will use it until I save enough money to get the new ATI one this coming fall.
Western Digital 74 gig 10000rpm Hard drive
520 watt OCZ modstream psu

Pretty expensive rig, but I'm not complaining when I can run everything at max resolution with every detail turned to full.

On that note, Battlefield 2 looks more beautiful than Half Life 2 when its graphics are turned to full in my opinion. I mean I actually think it's real.

Spore: General / Social Structure
« on: June 13, 2005, 10:22:18 pm »
I've been really interested in spore but all the questions covered in the transcript did not point to ward what types of government would be available. I think it would be cool if you can create your own government system and what not. What are your thoughts on how government/social structure ties in with everything?

PC Games / Most Humiliating Defeat\Death\Game Over etc.
« on: May 22, 2005, 09:42:55 pm »
I've had tons but this is the most prominent:

I played 3 hours and 15 minutes just to die like this.

Edit: This takes place in Age of Empires II : Conquerors, the other players have been crossed out to protect their identities, and also if you were them by any chance so you can't rub it in my face :D

Spore: General / PVP and Government
« on: May 20, 2005, 02:25:42 pm »
I was thinking.

What would be a good way to pvp in spore without people just running around destroying planets?

Well I have an idea that there should be a kind of pvp galaxy or just a library of servers in which you need to be in atleast in the City age, and have internet access to enter. There you can choose a server or whatever and join it. By then, your race will be put on a planet with other people. You race against time to build the biggest army, economy, or even befriend other civilizations, then fight and conquer with big explosions! Thus eliminating the threat of having some diabolical teenager go around destroying your planet whilst you are still in teh pool of teh bacteria!

Also I was wondering if you could craft your own system of Government or if you could only pick from certain kinds D:

Would love to remake communist china with cigar smoking/red wearing carebears
