Movies / Star Trek XII: So very Tired

Ok they made it to the 12th one, wondering if anyone has seen it yet? I saw it the other night and have to say I really really enjoyed it with out going to deep into spoilers I seriously enjoyed all the references and homages to wrath of kahn. left in spoiler tags because in to darkness is a whole plot reference to it.

It's been a while since I really was much into Star Trek it's not like the franchise has been to active mostly just the MMO and I never got round to that. Still both movies have been pretty solid to me.

I wanted to get a topic going as I'm sure a couple of us have Mario Kart 7. So I figured why not get some discussion going and more importantly determine which of us is the greatest human who ever lived by racing followed by the traditional whining about being screwed by a blue shell on the final lap.

Anyone who has interest in getting a race on put your hands up.

Has anyone seen this yet? I saw it over the weekend and have to say that it is an very beautifully animated film. the rest of the film is a pretty good homage to the spaghetti western one of those family films that is written to be seen by the whole family not just the kids.

PC Games / DC Universe Online

It's out of Beta or whatever the offical status is. I didnt see a topic so I made one. So the latest Super Hero MMO is out has full DC lisence and characters and can be bought through Steam. I figured what they heck and am going to give it go figured while I wait fore the download I'll see who else is in.

So if you get the game tells us about your character post pics even if it's just a Dr manhatten knock off or something. Be sure to tell us if you hero or villian etc. Lets save the world from Brainiac.

Movies / Pirahna 3D - Sometimes you need to see a bad movie

Saw this last night. Had to see how bad it was. I'm not sure if I loved how bad it was or not. Still I want to recommend it because the sheer audacity of the stuff they put in this film had both my girlfriend and myself falling out of our chairs laughing. The over the over the top gore, the horrible acting, the underwater nude ballet I laughed until it hurt. Christopher "Doc Brown" lloyd was in like 2 scenes it was and he was pretty much playing Doc Brown the only thing missing was getting him to say "Great Scott".

This movie is bad, see it anyway it's hilarious.

Movies / The Expendables

Anyone else seen this yet. I saw it Wednesday night. It was this or Scott Pilgrim but Scott Pilgrim didnt start for a few hours so we went to this. I was kind of hyped since seeing the movie poster and the number of names attached to this film. While it's true nearly every major action star is in this film it does focus more on Sly, Jason and Jet still most charcaters get a few moments to be awesome. Also would have been nice to have Jet Li not have his ass handed to him so many times in the film.

Over all it is an average movie the story isn't really anything worth looking at but the action is pretty good. Go and watch it if you need to see more explosions in your life.

Forum Games / Band food puns.

I got this from a radio station I listen to basically the drive host mentioned it and the station basically spent the next day or so just making food themed puns on every band they could think of. The premise is simple make puns on Band/Singer/Musical group names and all puns must be food related.

Example:
The Rolling Scones.
Curds of Tokyo.
Tofu Fighters

Once you get going you find your self spend far too much time thinking about and coming up with new ones. Now everyone else have a go.

Movies / Sherlock holmes

It's been out a few days now so who has seen it so far. I just got back from it and in a word it wasn't bad a decent film. They could have made the police seem a bit more competent to so Holmes' detective skills look good even compared to people who know what they are doing. Oh anyone who didn't work out who the man in the carriage was straight away needs to read more.

TV / Stargate Universe

The 1st episode just aired last Friday here in Australia. Has anyone else seen this yet, and if so what do you think? The series has only just got started so not a lot has happened yet will have to see over the coming episodes if this new spin off is any good. Remember to place spoiler tags the show is getting Fast tracked down here but I think there is still a week or so between when it airs in the states to when we get it.

Console Games / Batman: Arkham Asylum

I was wondering has anyone or is anyone planning on picking this up. The game is still a few days from release in Australia. Still I have started hearing good things about it. I downloaded the demo of it and enjoyed it also I remember hearing the guys from the Australian Gamer Podcast mentioning it looks real good. I think Gaming Steve even mentioned he is thinking about getting it.

So anyone else looking into this, if so what do you all think?

I saw this while I was in L.A. thought it was absolutely hilarious it did help that I had just been to Vegas myself. Still it was a very funny movie watching the photos from the characters night in vegas during the end credits just capped it all off. Has anyone else seen this yet?

Spore: General / All Spore down?

This isn't just the Sporepedia which seems to be working fine I'm talking the game it's self. I can't log into it and have to play in offline mode. I checked sporepedia and nothing is being uploaded. Normally creatures seem to be uploaded fast refreashing the screen and you will see a bunch of new creatures I haven't seen anything uploaded for a while now. So I assume no one can log in is this true for everyone?
