No replayability? Uhm, you can always go for omnivore, carnivore or herbivore, you can always decide what path you decide, not too mention the creature itself is NEVER the same.

The rest is correct though. They could've added the fact that spore is revolutionary.

Wait, hang on a moment, how is 73% a 'really bad rating' exactly? Methinks your standards are set a touch too high. Then again, this is what I dont get about percentage ratings, people seem to consider 75% as a boring average, with anything below 65% as totally crap. I recall Jade Empire getting a 100% from somewhere too, so I never place much importance on them.

This is not good. It talks about the game play not being worth it until the last stage. It not just a minor glitch here.

Yawn.....come on guys one or two magazines give it a mediocre review and it's the end of the world.

It's got plenty of better scores elsewhere and frankly who cares.

A lot of North American sites rate in the 70-100 range, so on those sites a score of 73 wouldn't be good. But I'm willing to bet those reviews are rated in the 1-100 range, in which case it's a good score. Not perfect, but few reviews will be since Spore's not aimed at the same demographic as most reviewers.

Well they're not reviewing spore as a whole. Theres gamplay, graphics, lastability, features, is it fun?, bugs?, longevity, etc..

People often get pissed off on Texnexus (oblivion mod site) if I dont rate thier mods as a 10. I'm sick of seeing all these posts: "10/10 I Love this!". I dont rate weather i like it or not, I rate how well made it is, and most fall very short of 10.

These reviews fail miserably:
-they rated Spore WITHOUT the editors, they exluded them in the final score because they wanted to rate the game as a game and not as a editor!!  :P ::) :o

WTF??? THE EDITORS ARE THE GAME!!! Why don't you go and rate Portal without the ability to open portals, or Sim City without building anything?
*waves middle finger*

-They even criticized that:
Quote
"Most people will be disapointed by the game iteself, if they dont want to create anything".
Yeah, and most people will be disappointed by WoW if they don't like MMOs. By this logic, every existing game is piece of *, because there is someone who doesn't like it.

Spore lacks in depth, phase 1-4 are to simple
...
The game could be to complex as a wohle game for casual gamers
Weird, but I saw this deady combo in almost every review.
Reviewers keep saying that it is "BIGZORZ!!! I don't Even KnoW What to do, I got lost in the features! Billions of Planetz!!!"
But they always have to comment that it is not deep enough either.    ???

Not suprised, this comes from a country where micromanagement civ style strategy games are like, the national gaming sport.

If its not complex then its not worth playing.

I wonder how the game got played, because I'd imagine that diplomacy is easier for those species that didn't go to war, and that war would be easy if you are a warmongering species. "No reason to play the game again" is bull****. It's like saying "I finished my house and carreer in the Sims, so I have no reason to play the game again". Start over and do it DIFFERENTLY this time. "No gaming depth till stage 5 ?", That's like saying: "I'm on level 2 of the game, and it is WAY too easy compared to the later levels". Depth ALLWAYS comes late in games.

that's what I was thinking. And if they take the editors out of the equasion, they might as well take all the spells out of wow :P.

Cause in my view, there's lots of these deep things that they were expecting from wow-like games, in spore. it's different. The interactive experience, as creator and as "evolutionary supervisor", is a big gameplay mechanic on their own, if you don't take this experience as something you can enjoy, all the rest that remains is a bit of pacman, a bit of rpg and a bit of civ. If that doesnt satisfy somebody in the way that spore works: then you are bound to dislike it more.

It's like not seeing the potential of a lego cube.

Exactly. If a game lacks a challange...make your own! I did that with the Sims with my Legacy Challenge and I'll probibly do that for Spore once it comes out!
