Spore: General / Adding Creature Rate Counter
« on: June 25, 2008, 09:41:22 am »
Why don't some kind of numerical counter or stat to each creature in your sporepedia to see how many times something has rated like or dislike?

As it stands the Sporepedia is limited and lackluster.

I'd still like to collect all the removed Sporepedia Creatures.  If anyone has the files saved they can post them here.  Thanks.

Here is Mr. Hanky.

Anyone see that the site has been updated?

Spore: General / Opening Sporepedia early?
« on: May 28, 2008, 08:01:33 pm »
Do you think they will ever open the Sporepedia website early?  This would allow us time to register and fill out profiles.  Is it my understanding that it's suppose to be a like a social networking site as well as creation showcase?

Spore: General / Building the Spore Computer...

Building the Spore Computer...

The Project Objective:  Building a computer with the intent to run Spore on high or better graphic settings.

I've decided to go with an Intel processor for build.  Just need to decide if I want to go with the more future proof, but expensive Quad-core processor or cheaper Dual-Core.

Motherboard: Intel-based board with support for 16x PCI-E 2.0.  I'm thinking DFI, but I'm not entirely sure as of yet.

Video Card:  ATI or Nvidia?  In the past it's always been ATI hands down.  That is not the case anymore and I'm strongly leaning toward Nvidia for this build.  Anyone know if Spore favors Nvidia?

We know the minimum specifications for running Spore, but what would be are target for hardware to run this smoothly.

I'll keep this updated as I progress in my parts research.

Spore: General / Long wait for Creature Creator...
« on: May 25, 2008, 04:44:01 am »
It's going to be a long wait for some people to get their hands on the Creature Creator...

My only fear that is with the exclusion of underwater, flying, and underground creatures that designs will for the most part be identical.

Here's to hoping they can develop some expansion packs to flesh out the game a little bit more.  Entire worlds with only above legged ground creatures is not something I look forward to.

Spore: General / Future after release?
« on: May 24, 2008, 12:08:26 am »
Anyone heard if Will has any planned expansion ideas for Spore, or maybe a content update system for which we could get new parts and abilities.

Spore: General / Spore isn't what it was when it started.
« on: February 11, 2007, 07:44:11 pm »
Spore isn't what it was when it started.  You can just tell by what all has been released that it isn't as great as when the first video was released.  It was just to much of technological challenge that it appears it not practical yet.  If it ever does release you will see.  Maybe Spore 2 in 2010 will actually have the ability to do what was originally promised.

Spore: General / Spore cutting Features
« on: August 14, 2006, 12:02:02 am »
I vote to keep the game in development for the sake of underwater creatures.  I don't need it to be out in time for Christmas.  If Spore needs to be delayed I'm alright for it.  I'm so tired of getting half-baked games so they can make extra sales.  It's a bunch of crap.

Spore: General / Spore dying, Release distant, Information scarce...
« on: August 06, 2006, 11:20:39 pm »
I don't know how you all can sit here and discuss something that has no information available on it.  It's at least a year away from release, and they don't ever release any information on it.  It's a dead zone for information or anything factual.  They need to something to spark mass interest in the game.  You know like maybe releasing some type of demo Creature Editor with limited features.  Show the community something for Christ sake.

Spore: General / Spore Photo Album
« on: May 17, 2006, 10:07:49 pm »
Does Spore have anything like a photo album?  You might recognize a feature like this as seen in The Sims.  It was a really big feature in The Sims 2.  I just didn't know if Spore was going to have something like this so we can keep track of our creatures evolution.  It might be a cool idea, not as full blow as in The Sims, but something as a keep sake.

Spore: General / Spore Life Expectancy
« on: May 15, 2006, 08:19:54 am »
What do you all think about Spore's Replayablity?  I think this game has the life expectancy to surely be popular for a long time.  The game is filled with endless amounts of customization.  It should take people a long time to fully get bored.  Half-life stood the test of time, because of all it's mods.  Spore basically is a mod for the user.  Granted, if Spore starts to decline an expansion pack release would quickly revive it.

Spore: General / Creature Editor, Textures and More
« on: May 12, 2006, 05:58:37 pm »
This is more than likely going to cause of lot of flames from fanboyism, but I will continue anyway.

I'm quite disappointed with the creature editor.  I'm sure that I'm not the only one to notice that it's basically just a blob.  You start with a blob and the creatures bodies end up as a blob with just legs and attachments.

There doesn't really seem to be a lot of tools for fine-tuning.  Sure you can make it skinny or fatter, but is there not any tools for adding definitions?  At this rate most creatures will look the same cause there is no fine-tuning to set them apart.  Unless there is a feature that hasn't been shown.

Now, this might be myself asking for a lot as I model in Maya and expect full control.  I just see this causing a lot look-a-like creatures.  I mean what about the people that want to spend hours creating an actually unique creature?

Spore: General / Fourm is busy

I bet a week after E3 these forums die back down.  They are crazy busy right now.  Notice all these newbies?
