Well, there it takes a while to get used to it. And even longer to be able to play it well. I, for instance, haven't managed to win a game yet. :P

You have to have the game to play multi but your not required to get it ;)

It's fun but hard. Lots of micro managing to make money. Ovi and I are co-oping on the same side to try to win. I just found out last night that you can make a ton of money by selling goods to the Indians. Beside their names it has what they want. So I was buying guns from Europe for 700 and selling them to the Indians for 1800. It might be too late to make a difference but I'm trying. Once you give them what they want, their want changes but they don't give you squat for rum. I'm trying to automate shipping now, its not as easy.

Update.. since the patch came out we played and Ovi and I won a game playing as a team. We won by focusing on making ships to try to defeat the royal force by sea. You can take down a Man-O-War with about 4 or 5 Ship of the Line's.

Man-O-Wars are cake with Simon Bolivar. It lowers it to about 1:2 for Ship'O'Lines to Man-O-Wars. I believe I read somewhere about Frigates actually being a better choice, though.
