Everything Else / Re: 2016 Elections

Let's wait and see if it sticks. Trump is basically ineffable to his supporters and will vote for him no matter what. I remember reading a study about how the majority of Trump supporters are for totalitarian policies. They would not identify as totalitarian and they certainly wouldn't admit to it, but if you look at their views on certain subjects, their views align greatly with that mindset. In other words, they're perfectly fine with Trump because he represents the kind of "security" that you'd get from a despotic leader like Saddam.

Also, hello again. I'm... well, I think I'm back.

Eh? It has moments of awesome, but I'm mostly disinterested in Homestuck at the moment. It's one thing to not take itself seriously, but this feels completely different to that. No one I know is really whining, just... well opinions, I guess. Some FAs are so much better than what Homestuck has become that I think some of us are just jaded.

I tend to avoid MSPA General, like the plague. I'm gloomyMoron there. I stick to commenting adventures, wordwalling, Mafia games, and collaborative storytelling in which I extrude enormous amounts of suck.

Instead of spending all my time (what little I have/remember of it) at the MSPA Forums (specifically in the Forum Adventures and Games sections), I should probably try to not be as lurky here. To accomplish that, I'm using this thread to try and ween myself off of MSPA... by talking about MSPA on a forum that is less bat-**** insane.

So, recent developments have been nuts. Gamzee basically hinting at his meeting of "new friends" (probably the kids who are going to join the Troll's session after the Scratch), the deaths of Kanaya and Tavros., and now more trolling/admitted idiocy from Andrew. The general consensus of people I talk to is... Homestuck is basically meh, but we all read it anyway. Is that the consensus here as well?

Sorry. I've had serious internet connection issues. Like It keeps cutting out randomly for hours at a time, only to come back on for 5-10 minutes. I've also been in the hospital for heart ****.

Meanwhile, deep beneath the ascending heroes...

"Bah! It's like a damned jungle down here. A jungle of steel, rubber, and asbestos," Machinist grumbled, bending his crooked frame even lower to duck a large metal pipe. "But this is better than dealing with the security alarms and traps, at least. Now lets see... Hmmm. Yes. This should be it." Machinist tapped on the the stone wall with his cane, listening to the sounds. Thud... thud... thunk... "Found it! Bring the cyclonite-trinitrotoluene charges." Turning to look at the guards that he brought with him, Machinist couldn't help but notice the look of only vague recognition on their faces. "The 'dynamite'. Bring me the big-explodey stuff," he said with a sigh. Morons, all of them. Moments later, several small packages were placed on the wall in five separate spots with fuses running from each of them, into a single coiled strand that ran down the hall and behind a corner. Machinist hunched over with his hands on his head as a small but bright light whizzed around the corner, along the fuse, and up the wall to the explosives. A loud thunderclap resounded through the underground as the foundation of the building shook. Dust and smoke rushed along the corridors in a great flood of gray and brown. Removing his hands from his hands and the ear plugs from his head, Machinist surveyed the damage. "Hmm not to bad, but could still use some more refinement. Good enough for now though," he muttered to himself as he stepped over some rubble and into the newly-made hole. The secret vault's outer walls had be breached. "Now, time to look for our quarry... Let's see what else of use we can find in this tomb of ideas. Before the day is through, Kysely may not be the only grave we rob here."

Back upstairs...

The building shook and rumbled from the blast deep below. Part of the building collapsed onto the stairwell, sealing off the roof and the rest of the building. The dust and rubble helped to squelch the remaining flames, as outside the building various police and city officials had finally gathered. Across from the bank, several police-trained snipers started to take up their appointed positions. Hidden from view, but with good line-of-sight, they would start to carry out their orders when they we in place. Kill anyone who attempts to leave the building on sight... "Don't know who paid off the superiors this time, but at least it looks like I'll have some fun at least," a sniper said to himself as he peered down his rifle and into the building. Spotting a flash of red and some movement, the sniper fired off a warning shot, picked up his gun and moved towards his beta position. It's no fun if they don't know where here, he thought to himself as a wicked grin came across his face. Even if I catch hell for this later...

A large round man stood on one of Grand Central's observation balconies looking out across the city, particularly at the smoke that had been rising a distance away. "Seems like things are going according to schedule over there. And it's just about time fo-" Before Jim could finish his sentence the street at an intersection below buckled and collapsed as water and other liquids rushed up from below. "For that," he said with a smile as another piece of road was destroyed, this time exploding outwards as a wall of flame roared from a busted gas line. Not even a second later, Jim held a small gun in his large, fat hand; pointed it to the sky; and fired a flare over the city.

Some many miles away, the flare could be seen quite well even in the afternoon sky. "That's the bosses' signal," someone yelled over the sound of engines reffing and blades whirling. Everyone assembled already knew what the flare had meant, but it always helped to get the blood pumping when someone sounded off. Not even two minutes had passed since the flares launch, before a small fleet of dirigibles of many shapes, sizes, colors, and designs were in the sky. All heading towards the city; heading for Grand Central and heading their fast. In the distance two larger, slower carrier zeppelins moved on the city ominously and from opposing directions. The droning of the engines, the shouts of men on make-shift airfields and in hidden hanger bays, and the imposing sight of three large fleets heading towards the city could mean only one thing... A war was beginning.

The past day and a half have been absolutely sh**-tastic. I"ll post in the morning... if my internet doesn't give the flip out again. I seemed to have missed Pat and other's earlier... my connection reset in IRC which changed my name from Doom|Work to Doomsday. Sorry about that...

I'll be posting tomorrow when I'm not prone to short, angry-ish posts. I'll be moving things along. I don't seem to be doing so well on the arc, but I'm gonna continue... I'll force something out of you yet. Even if I only wind up tying up my loose ends.

The thug with just the ax approaches Virginia and the suitcase, while two of his companions regain their composure and steady their aim at her. "Alright, you just be a good ol' hag and stay still and you won't need to get hurt," said the man before being distracted for a moment as screams of pain came from down the hall.

The rifleman that Red had attacked attempted to jump and fall back onto his aggressor as the shots that he fired found their marks. One of the thugs was hit in the shoulder and fell to the ground in pain, gripping at the wound. Another thug was hit in the stomach, doubled over, and fell to the ground, a pool of blood formed under the man. The last shot from the rifle only grazed part of another thug's suit, damaging it slightly.

"No, I suppose your boss wouldn't but I don't think you have much choice in that. Drop your weapon and the case," replied one gunmen, threatening Virginia with his weapon. The other gunmen of the group, shaking nervously, accidentally fired a shot over Virginia's shoulder. "S-sorry," came a voice but it went unheard as the sound of the shot set off all the other thugs in the room, except the man with the ax, causing them to ready their weapons and start shouting at the three heroes.

Yea.. no one should give Nathan a pet rabbit or dog or well any small animal really. Not unless they like "Of Mice and Men" references. >.> That's how the character is telling me to write for him, so it's not entirely intentional.

Suddenly a couple of guards burst into the hall from closed doors at both ends. One group had climbed over a destroyed wall into the room they were now bursting out of, the other had been searching ahead of the group that now lay dead on the floor and doubled back upon hearing the sound of gunfire. The group closest to Ian and Red took aim at the pair. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?" said a large-seeming man, covered in a silvery-black suit. In one hand he held a specially-fitted pistol that allowed his heavily gloved hand to hold it normally, and in his other hand he held a small fireman's ax. The other members of this group seemed to only be carrying the specially-modified pistols. At the other side of the hall, near a large outward facing window, the other group took aim at the lone woman and made threatening gestures with their weapons. Two of the four carried pistols, one carried just an ax, the fourth carried a specially-fitted rifle.

Back on the first floor

"Did you hear that?" Jacob asked Jane after hearing what appeared to be muffled gunshots.

"I didn't hear anything, but we can always send Nathaniel to go check it out if you want," she replied.

"Ahh yea, better safe than sorry though he'd probably just get lost or do something stupid. So its win-win for us," he said with a laugh to the woman. "Hey, Nathan, buddy. I think I heard something upstairs. It was pretty muffled so it's probably a floor or two up. Why don't you go check it out?"

"Sure ding, Jake. I'll go checks it out fur ya," replied the lummoxing  brute as he moved towards the stairs and began his ascent.

How about have him out of his suit for a change? Have him on foot with only a stolen weapon from one of my guys to protect him. It'll be a change for him and it'll let you roleplay him in a new/different way. Or not. It's just my suggestion.

Tell me what you need and I'll make it happen. I figured burning building, bank with files, records, both a vault and a secret vault of unknown treasures/goodies would be plenty of incentive for people to show up.

"I'm Dox, SAF of this station, so yes, you could say I'm in charge As for your other question, I could ask you the same thing, Einstein was it? You'd be surprised at how quickly word can reach me when a sentient AI comes on board, though all I've had time to read about you is your name and description. Anyway, from what we can tell, there has either been a glitch in the main computer systems, its been infected with some sort of advanced before-unknown virus, or someone has hijacked the mainframe and is running amok. The last option isn't so likely, from what evidence we've been able to gather but we can't rule it out either." Dox walked over towards the people doing CPR and directed the medic to take over for one of them and for one of the CPR-trained guards to take over for the other.

Dox led Isenlot and the other Xalute down the winding corridors heading towards the arboretum, periodically being joined by more Xalute as well as an occasional station security crewmen. Dox passed through one of the shop-lined promenade sections. As they walked the odd group couldn't help but draw the attention of the few shopkeepers and shoppers that were undeterred by the presence of more-than-usual security bots and other strange events. Moving with a quiet, but deliberate haste Dox led his guests out of the promenade area, past one of the sector's security chief's office, and finally to the large and elaborate main entrance into the arboretum. "This is the main entrance into Nexus Park and Arboretum. There are personnel entrances for security and science staff that lead to more closed off and secure areas, but they aren't spacious enough for the needed equipment," he said as he opened one of the large doors and entered what appeared to be a lush green with a couple of large trees. A small lake could be seen in the distance, as well as a small forested area near the lake. "This may seem like a colossal waste of resources, but others constantly assure me that all this does indeed serve some sort of purpose besides just oxygen production. I still say it's a waste of resources," he muttered lowly as he walked to an area that seemed easily defensible, just in case. A couple of large and wide what appear to be Oak trees formed a protective 'entrance' while a small forest provided enough cover from the rear. Upon settling on this location, Dox motioned to a couple of the security personnel who seemed to be carrying large metal suitcases. The security personnel pulled out telescoping rods from the cases and started setting up the energized shield barriers that would also help defend the area. A crew of technician came up from, seemingly no where and began setting up computer and communication systems. As Dox surveyed the area he noticed in the distance a black figure standing near four small figures, which two of appeared to be laying on the ground. "I'm gonna go check that out, you, you and you follow me," he said as he pointed towards two security guards and a medic.

He can just be a liar the rest of it is fine and has already been referenced and worked around. I don't like retconing things so once there is another post after it, especially one that references it,  it is canon and we just have to work around it some how. No big deal. The first part wasn't that bad really, the second part wasn't either except that it started to show a trend I disliked. :-p Don't mind me too much though.. I can usually work around most things.

Yea... >.> That happens too. Either a connection reset or my being in a rush. lol

Depends on when I work.. but the later in the day (EST) the better. So not until fairly late GMT time.
