EDIT: FYI, shutting the server down at night while I sleep/work 'cause it's not worth leaving my machine on through the night for like two people to play for a few minutes.
I'll pick it back up when Notch finishes his business and starts updating again.

WAHH

Also... the website's down atm :(
Where's the minimap?
"I threw it in the lake!"

Yeah, overloaded again.
It's gonna be a long wait I guess.

EDIT: It's back up.

Apparently there was a bottleneck in the purchasing of the game, where it only allowed up to 1 sale at a time, and all the people trying to buy the game was causing some overloading.  And since the purchasing is on the same server as the game and website, it's causing outages.  Well, he fixed the bottleneck temporarily. Now he's up to 4205 4210 4215 4220 4225 4235 4240 4260 4280 4320 4340 4350 sales every 24 hours.  That's more than 3 a minute.  At the rate this is going, soon it could be OVER 9000!

Yeah, whether he comes back from the States with some sort of deal or not, he's going to have to hire some people to help out with the sales issues, server maintenance, accounting etc.  So to answer Gauph's question from a page or two back about him starting his own studio, I think he's going to have to do something, because at this point he can't handle it all by himself and get any meaningful work done.  And regardless of the taxes and paypal cut, he almost assuredly has over $500k in the bank.  Not a bad chunk of money to start your own gaming studio with, especially if he comes back with a publisher deal too.

This is all so crazy. Minecraft is just so absurdly popular.
It seems to really be filling a need that wasn't being handled before for a hell of a lot of people.

I don't think he has that much money, the accounts he has sold would only be around $57,000. Probably enough to pay the bills. What you don't know is how much time he spends on his work or the cost of the servers and computers. It's a good product, hope he gets noticed.

As of right now, Notch has grossed over one million dollars. That means with 60 percent of that deducted, he still DOES have 600,000 in the bank.

The amount of people posted by Lippy is just from one day. ONE DAY.

50,000 grossed in a day! O_O
Goddamnit kitkat, you make me look late
