Okay. If anyone does not want to read this, don't.
Okay so I have dial-up. Yes, I can get hi-speed, but I am turned off by the whole two year contract thing and don't really want to get stuck in that. I purchased Portal 2 from my local retailer knowing that it required Steam and willing to pay the bill for the three hours to download steam. I assumed that I wouldn't have to download it because it CAME ON A F**ING DISK WHICH IS USED FOR STORING DATA, AND, IN MANY CASES, GAMES. But no. I instead was required to download the game and the disk apparently only had the installer for steam on it. Gamestop has a if-it's-open-you-can-not-return-it-ever policy so I am now stuck with a $40 dolla coaster unless I someday purchase a PS3 or XBOX360, which do not require internet to activiate the game, as far as I know.
There. You asked for the rant.
