Woah, necropost! Does this even count for as slow as things have been around here?

Sorry to hear your year's gone to crap, Haseri, but I'm glad to hear it's been on the upswing now. Mine hasn't been much better either, for what it's worth, so at least you're not alone.

I've been working on a resolution to lose some weight finally and it's been sorta working so far, so that's going well. It's at least got me paying attention to what I eat and my calorie intake, which is nice. Even went out and bought a FitBit.

eh. that kind of stuff happens on every new product launch and in the end it turns out it happened to like, a very small vocal minority of buyers. (cf the iphone 6 bendgate or the samsung galaxy notes overheating)

i know it's anecdotal, but neither i nor the 3 other people i know with switches have had any such problems.

Totally fair, and that was kind of my assumption; nonetheless, kinda wanted to wait a bit just in case. Can't really hurt either way, not like the console is going to get worse over time or something. Hearing that more people haven't had many issues at all is good, of all the people I know (except you guys of course), only one has a Switch and one guy doesn't make for a great sample size.

Hell, I'd believe gamestop planting the story just to sell screen protectors.

Don't go giving them any bright ideas, they really don't need the help.

Welcome back!
I hope you've been well.
Thanks! I've been quite well, to be honest! Can't really complain, life has decided to be somewhat nice to me recently. Waiting for that to change abruptly and horribly lol

It's okay, you can admit to having red hair.  This is a safe space.
I dunno man. I don't know if I can be open about such a private and controversial thing, I just don't think I'm ready yet. It's too much.

I've got a lot of interest in the Switch but I've been really hesitant after the rocky launch, what with messed up screens and the docks scratching up the screen, and so on. Plus the current roster of games doesn't interest me much (aside Breath of the Wild but I've got that on my Wii U already).

For the price, my girlfriend and I decided on a pair of those new 2DS XLs; price ends up being the same but a lot more games are available and at lower cost as well. Plus we both get a console, which is a major win for us.

I still want a Switch but I'm thinking of waiting until next year to pick one up, that way the content selection will be greater and any hardware kinks will (hopefully) be worked out. I dunno, maybe I'm buying into hyperbole around the consoles issues or something.

Hang in there Hydro, my sympathies for your recent luck  :( Here's hoping smooth sailing for your dad from here on out.

I practically live off of caffeine, without it I'm like a comatose zombie half the time. Ha, 'health'. The low-carb Monsters are like my lifeblood, kidneys be damned.

On an unrelated note, I try to pop back in every so often, even if I don't say much if anything. Not sure how ginger I should be here but I did NOT expect to see the boards coming up a few topics lighter.

I very, very nearly pre-ordered No Man's Sky, and seeing how well it's run on most peoples' systems makes me very glad I didn't, plus from what I've seen even if it DOES run, you'll have seen the entirety of what the game has to offer in two hours.

Pretty sad that eight years later we've got a game that fails nearly the exact same way Spore did, whilst attempting to do (to some degree) the exact same things Spore did as well. It's like this specific niche genre has a curse or something. IIRC this is the second major game to try this sort of thing, maybe the third time will be the charm? Hopefully?

If it's any consolation GD, I think it looked lovely. That being said, I'm with Ink on Pat just trying to make a joke and kinda botching the delivery.

Well, sorry you're stuck in an untenable situation then Ink :( Hopefully some good news arises soon.

On the plus side, though, if you start at part time there isn't anything stopping your position from being moved back to full time, especially if the people you're working for like your performance. My experience base is fairly small but as I understand it, that tends to be a somewhat common practice?

My sympathy as well. Getting your stuff taken really bites but you can't blame someone else's loose morals on yourself. As sgore said, forgetting to do something doesn't mean you have bad judgement, just means you're human.

Plus, silver lining, the dingus didn't hotwire and steal your whole car. So at least there's that, if it's any consolation.

.... how was drunk I?

-Lego :)

Likely somewhere between "blackout" and "fun-filled trip to the emergency room", my money being on closer to the latter.

Poor liquor cabinet didn't know what hit it ;)

Not much! Glad to see you around again. Been trying to collect up old members that have vanished.

If you wanna play a game or whatever, let someone know! You have us on Steam? Shoot, you must be almost 20 now, right?

Yup, 20 in December. It's terrifying, I first joined up here when I was 11.

The only people I have added on Steam from here are you and Legodragon so I'll have to add the rest.

My personal triumph is remembering the URL to the board after all these years.

'Sup guys? It's been a while.
