I like the idea of parties. Already have one planned out in my head...

I think that we should have a Senate of Parliament, one big body, and then an executive-like branch of the government which would be the council that we have been talking about.

And what do you guys think about the document that supports individual rights along with a body that makes sure they are carried out?

Alright i was sitting in school and got pretty bored in history (which is going over the American constitution... ironic?) and started to right down my ideas.

1st Branch
-Document of Rights (States all the rights of the individual beings)
-Council of Law (Made up of 11 lawmen selected for their honorableness and knowledge of the law. Appointed by the Grand Council and approved by the General Assembly. Terms of 20 years.)

Monitors the actions of the other branches to make sure they are within their constitutional limit (based off the Document of Rights).

2nd Branch
-General Assembly (1,000 representatives, determined by population and elected by a popular vote. Terms of 5 years.)

Creates the laws based on the needs of the nation and the people.

3rd Branch
-Grand Council (A council of 10 members, selected for their knowledge of specific areas. Chosen by the General Assembly. Terms of 10 years.)

Deals with the military, foreign relations, and determines the general direction in which the Union moves.

Checks and Balances
1st Branch
-Supports individual rights and nullifies unjust laws created by the General Assembly.
-Supports individual rights and nullifies actions undertaken by the Grand Council which are unjust.

2nd Branch
-Approves the lawmen appointed to the Council of Law.
-Elects the members of the Grand Council.

3rd Branch
-Selects the lawmen to be approved for the Council of Law.
-Has the ability to veto and reject laws passed by the General Assembly.

Thought
*All names are subject to change.
*The General Assembly may hold too much power, but that can be checked because the General Assembly is elected by the people and can't necessarily be 'corrupted'.
*The Grand Council deals with many different areas because they are the elite of the Union. Because of this they are the most qualified to deal with said aspects.
*The number of people on the Grand Council might be better if they equaled the number of 'departments' or areas that the Grand Council must cover.

EDIT: Just saw that Mr. C posted another system in the other thread. Should i post the summary of this over in the other thread through Ninel?

Yeah, I think we should work it out, IC, in the other thread.

An amalgamated system would probably be better.

Yes, I am aware of the irony.
