Pretty good. lacks a bit of the same witty writing and pacing as the original however. But impressed with the outfits and scenery. I saw bit of it when it was in production but it is cool to see the finished (or rather half finished) product. :)

Yeah, they have some pretty impressive puppetry/animatronics.

Here is some behind the scenes information, if you're interested:

Question
What happened to Steve from Bob Ross: The Joy of Painting?

Answer
Quote
Actually, I have some insight on this. Steve apparently got away from painting as a certified Bob Ross Instructor after his death. He had no stake in the Bob Ross company, and based on further discoveries, it would seem there was some acrimony between the company and at least some of its instructors, if not Steve himself after Bob passed. I last read that he was a software developer living in Ronkonkoma, NY (Long Island). For years, that's all I could find, until I came across one of Bob's proteges online, Dana Jester. Dana appears 2 or 3 times over the course of Bob's series painting for people. He was Bob's #2 guy, an instructor, and Dana has some videos up online and can be found on Facebook. I even was able to delve into a few photos on Dana's personal facebook that were public where a conversation about Steve is brought up, and Dana seems frustrated in his inability to reach & encourage Steve to paint/instruct and/or carry the torch. Steve is hard to reach like Bob was, and Dana didn't even have his phone number as recently as 2010. I think Dana is a loyal friend and Steve doesn't reciprocate. Dana still has the license plate from Bob's corvette. I thought that was cool. Dana could have carried the torch for sure, but not with BRI. My read on BRI is that BRI is a very traditional corporation and did not treat all Bob's close associates as well as they could have. They were also very aggressive in enforcing copyrights and essentially pushed away at least he & Steve and likely anyone close to Bob after his death. When "The Happy Painter" came out, Steve was noticeably absent from the documentary, as was Dana. Dana did make an indirect reference to the documentary and was clearly displeased with the BRI-centric interviews.

You can find Dana Jester on facebook and youtube, there are a couple videos of bob on YT and several photos (and comment insight) on FB.
