normally between like 7-15

Ouch.  My worry is that this game will be dead in a few months.
So, is it dead yet, or should I get it?

I stopped playing after 10 minutes.

I didn't like it at all.

It seems to have died. This annoying. I liked it.

Obviously everyone just got confused at first and then stopped playing.

It will get a second breath of air when it hits brick-and-mortar stores. I think that's going to happen in early 2007 IIRC.

I'm contacting Valve to see if I can get a refund.

I played this game last night and was surprised to see a good number of games going at 2 am. looks like they added some maps and a tutorial.

I remember playing the original HL1 mod of this, it was really fun if you could get a server with decent players. When I say "decent" I dont necessarily mean skilled either, just a server where people actually try to play the game, and not just be pests and barricade the toilet doors with their characters, or go around blitzing non-targets/hunters just because they dont care if they lose. I also remember people being complete idiots with the 'push' ability. Rather than milling around quietly, walking around people, they blitz down corridors sprinting, and shoving people left right and center. It only takes one or two people to do this, then the game speeds up, everyone assumes the worst, so the only way to get to where you want to go is to have a long push-fight with a group of people to get to the other side of a normally populated corridor. Stepping back never helped, because they'll get to where they want to go, then reconsider their tactics and want to go back. Then people get too used to it, and use it out of reflex. Someone within pushing distance? Push them, because there is no penalty. It always ended up being about personal vengeance based on who was being an annoying little troll...

I hope they resolved some of these things, but laying down 20 for this is a bit too much for me.

Yeah, I checked out the Assassin wiki for the smaller version. I'm starting a game at my school.

Has anyone ever played?

Just so you know, a search for "The ship" doesn't actually turn up this thread until halfway down the page...thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Anyway, this is a great game, its incredibly well made and it's free for the weekend. I highly recommend you have a play while its free.
Dont look at me, I'm irrelevant!
