I played this on xbox with a friend. I'm not even gonna bother playing it on PC cos it lags too much.

I honestly think I'm better on xbox.

So we were playing survival mode. We never found a server where the other 2 survivors had mics. We went through as many mics as we could.

We only ever reached a bronze medal in the lighthouse and in the gas station.

In the lighthouse our winning strategy was for us to split into two 2 parties. 2 of us hung out at the top of the broken stairs. We put some gas cans around the sides of the room but generally just defended with our guns. We held out for as long as we could, while the other two grabbed all the remaining gas cans, laid them around the lower part of the lighthouse, and hid at the top. They didn't even get attacked for 3 minutes, until me and the other guy died. We reached about 5:30.

In the gas station, we all went into that garage and stood on the shelf, and just covered the ground in gas cans. We actually held out an abnormally long time just standing on top of that shelf. We made sure to give each other space so no one will fall off. We made like 4:18.

Im not sure why you guys are so hung up on mics, I have gotten 10 bronze, 4 silver and 3 gold so far, very very few of those games had mic users playing, and I dont use a mic myself, I love when someone with skill has a mic, but thats a 50/50 right there, many mic users just yell when incapped or bark out insane newbish orders, while the visual and audio clues are sufficient to alert you to anything going on.

I do however prefer someone with a mic over someone without one, mostly because I like the banter, but not in the magnitude of kicking anyone for not having a mic, it just isnt all that important in L4D if people know what they are doing to begin with.

You'd be surprised how many times people ignore you while fighting off a horde or something. And in survival, there's a permanent horde.

We came close to getting silver last night in the hospital. Missed it by 20 secs. We found a nice room to hang out in, one way in and out.

I found a glitch in survivor mode in the runway map.
If you get up one of the luggage piles, the common zombies nor the tank can hit you, and if you go on the luggage pile somewhere in a corner in the dark, the special zombies will ignore you most of the time too.. The only thing is if you need new ammo you'll have to run and all the zombies are waiting for you so you will get a hard time getting some ammo.

Also, Survival mode seems to be most fun in smaller doses than the other modes, I'm not sure if it's because the same map is played over and over ad nauseum, but it really does get on my nerves quicker than the other modes.
