Hey, don't bash windows scripts, you can use them to... er... well, they can make dialog boxes come up easier than in C.

Steve's Wikipedia page has been taken down due to copyright infringments, apparently.

Wow, that is pretty amazing. I didn't know they look for things like that. I guess I can give them permission to use it or I can write up something myself...

I checked the history and some guy named Kurando deleted everything and added the copyright infringement information.
As well, he added a small comment, "if it's not a copy vio, it's pure vanity anyway..."
Which basically means if someone else did it, they ripped off Steve's about page; if Steve did it, he is being vain.

Wasn't done by a monitor or someone who actually knows what they're talking about. Probably just some random Joe Schmo who thought that Steve here is a nobody.
Maybe Steve's page could appear more important if it had a bit more information in it, not just the stuff we already know from the site here. More recent info to be added could include his dealings in Spore, and the website and such.
Not too big a deal, but I guess it just needs to look like more than an about page. And if we want to avoid people editing it out constantly, it looks like Steve himself should be the one to do it.

How about it?

Actually someone else (I think someone on the board) put that up there. I think the person mentioned it somewhere in the earlier messages in this thread. I did go in and delete something afterwards which wasn't true, but otherwise I didn't enter that.

Oh, no. I meant that you should go back there and actually enter in some stuff in the page, as you would probably be the best one to do it after all.
Also, you could definitely add much more.

I'm interested in this company you ran for one thing...

I thought I heard something along those lines in one of his podcasts (maybe).

That was just an example anyway.

EDIT: Hell, looks like those nutty Wikipedians are voting to delete the thing, claiming it's a vanity page. It seems Steve here isn't well known or established enough for an article on there. Syphonbyte is the only one who voted to keep it so far.
Well, what do you do...

Sorry to bump with a double post, but... yeah. They're voting for deletion.

I was bored so I edited the article to include a bunch of stuff. Since I'm not very well informed (actually, I forgot a lot of stuff), someone else should maybe go in there and add a few things. I'm not sure if my facts are perfectly straight, or if I left out vital information.
In any case, do try to help save the thing. I know it's notable. If I had the first interview with Will Wright with brand spanking new information, and a release date right from his mouth, I'd surely like people to be able read it.
Though when the stuff gets outdated, it'll be a bit less important...
Egh, I don't know. Like I said I was bored. And half asleep.

Ah well.

EDIT: And... deleted!
I guess it was inevitable. It seems you can't just bio a guy in wikipedia unless they're famous.
I mean, seriously... who the hell cares about a bus company in Israel? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Bus_Cooperative)

Whatever.

I know this is a bump, but it has been recreated, it is now at Stephen Glicker.

I would be hesitant to take this as some kind of accomplishment. Wikipedia had potential. Yes, had - in their crazed drive to be a reputable source of information, they've turned into a neurotic beauracracy incapable of action until a paticular motion has been suggested, voted on, approved, vetoed, re-approved, vandalised, reverted, twisted, un-twisted, corrected, reverted again, then finally locked and written the way the admin wants it. Seriously, take a look at one of their polls sometime, i've seen ones where the admin was basically overturning and ignoring every vote against what he wanted to do. Which somehow, managed to merely slow down the process even more rather than expediate it in any direction be it good or bad.

It's alright for reading general knowledge and trivia, but don't use it as a legitemate encyclopedia.

I prefer Uncyclopedia. It's more factual* and accurate*.
