Topic: Deaths and Near Deaths

I tried to find a topic for this but I did not see one. So here goes ...

My mom died on April 14th 2017 at 7:49 pm PST. She was in the hospital with pneumonia since March 27th. My dad, sister and I took turns staying with her until the very end. I cannot stop crying. 

Also my motherboard died 2 weeks ago and I had to basically get a new computer. While my hard drives were fine I have to move stuff all back again to the new C drive and I am not in the best mental state to be doing computer stuff.

The funeral will be on Thursday March 20th at 11 am. My heart hurts so much I feel like I am going to die.

Aw Hydro, you've got all our support. There's not much we can do for you, but if you want to talk or play a game to unwind, I think that's within our power.

Thanks you guys. Its good to hear such kind words from you guys. Especially those of you who have been around since the Pre-Spore days.

My mom was never on the computer too much but for a short time during the mid 2000s she had a laptop. And I made a wallpaper with all my Spore creatures for her. I am not sure how much she liked them, but since it was made by me she loved it.

She was also nice enough to drive me all the way to the GDC 2006 that year to see the Spore demo and meet Will Wright. She was so selfless and always put her family before herself. I am so proud to have her as my mom.

You probably know this already but your mom loved you very much. Keep doing meaningful things and I'm sure she'd still be proud of you. It will take time to get back on your feet. Just give yourself the time to mourn and appreciate the family you have now, including the family you have on the forum.

I'm sure that my empathy isn't the only person's empathy wishing that you get peace of mind as soon as it comes.

We're all getting to the age where this is going to start happening with increasing frequency.
I imagine some members have already gone through it.

But you're gonna be better Hydro - the human condition sucks, but we'll all be where you are, like billions before, and even if we can't make you feel better ^{without chemicals}, know that we all are, have, or will be going through this with you. Don't feel like there are fewer people in your life. You just joined a family made up of every past generation and became more human. This species has got your back.

And her love is still in you.
