I assume the server isn't going back up anytime soon. I was thinking of migrating to the Minecraft Dad server (look it up on youtube) once they get the whitelist applications up. Maybe make Steveville, or Steveburg (if that's possible). I'm thinking a big statue of something Gaming Stevey in the town square. A statue of Steve, or maybe a Naucean. But having a Gaming Steve gathering place is what matters most. It would be a place we could all reliably visit whenever we want. We could build stuff, discuss ideas, just have fun in general. Since we wouldn't all be on at once, we could have a literal message board to put signs on. And it all wouldn't take that much effort in comparison to the payoff.

Frankly, I've been feeling alienated and distanced from the forums lately. Not as many people seem to be on as often, and there's a somewhat pessimistic attitude in the air. I don't feel like I know enough of you guys nearly as much as I should, and I want to fix that. If you're busy or commited, then you can still hop on board the cause and actually join the server when you have free time.

I cannot speak with rose-tinted glasses. I was not present during the pre-Spore Golden Age. This isn't for old time's sake, this is for fun's sake.

Tell me what you think, and think carefully.

Go easy on him. English might not be his first language.

Dirk, you might want to talk to Yuu. He's also Filipino. I'm guessing that means he might be able to help you with something.

I was pretty disappointed when learned that the server would be down. I had plans.

I've already named a few landmarks and places. The central desert is the Farouk Desert, and the spawn area is called the Dune Docks. The river that separates the desert from the plains and hills to the west is the Copperhead River. That mountain range that borders the Farouk's southern half? The Ev Mountains. A road stretches across the desert, east and west. To the west, it leads to a place called Quarrytop, where Gauph and I have made our residences. To the east, it connects to the much more developed Base Camp.

I hope nobody dislikes the names.

Everything Else / Re: What do you want for Christmas?

I got a nerf gun(perfect office weaponry), a keychain rubber band gun(ditto), some comfy new slippers which I'm wearing right now*, a Hubble calendar, two DVDs I've been wanting for a while, and Skyrim.

As my dear grandmother said, have a merry damn Christmas.

So they're dwarves, then. Diggy diggy hole...

Also, excellent work. I think you got it all covered extremely well. I can't think of any questions that haven't already been answered. Perfect reference source! Well done!

Sounds fine to me.

Fit-Ka-Lau-Kittau of the Plikik State for Chief of Public Information.

Everybody is probably wondering who and what these Plikik things are. Well, Plikiks are pink crustaceans hailing from a somewhat shallow and flat water world. They were discovered by the Goonals roughly 250 years ago. It was first contact for both races.

Back then, the Goonals were decidedly less sensible and peaceful as a whole, having finished their fifth World War some 60 years prior. The discovery of the Plikik actually spurred an international effort on the Goonals' part and eventually led to the formation of the UGP, which was possibly one of the best decisions Goonalkind has ever made.

Nowadays, the Plikik are living peacefully throughout the UGP, and have an autonomous government holding sway over their home system. The Plikik State relies on the UGP for military protection and economic aid, though.

The Plikik are very similar to Goonals in mentality, and share much in common. They can hold full citizenship in the UGP, and are a minority there. Fortunately, there aren't any specialized job fields in which Plikiks are exploited; they're shorter than Goonals and can survive in shallow water, so that doesn't really make them specialized for anything Goonals or robots can't do. Plikik discrimination is extremely rare and punishable by law. This may sound a bit too perfect, but keep in mind that it took 250 years to get to this point.

Yes, I hope to make a new Goonal thread. Yes, information about the Plikik will be included if I ever get around to making the thread. Yes, I have had the Plikik planned out for some time now. And singular is Plikik, plural is Plikiks, and the species is the Plikik.

Probably exact spheres, unless they have a lot of territory, like the Kratair. A lot of spheres would overlap, but that seems appropriate. The overlaps would mean areas of major trade in peacetime and areas of major conflict in wartime. The only instances where an overlap would not occur would be with isolationist races who have closed borders. The spheres would merely push up against each other like a pair

7.5/10, with 5 being average

I'll ignore the fact that it's a pony. The color scheme is lacking somewhat, but the animation is very smooth and simplistic. Pleasing to the eye.

Hatena Rolu of the UGP for re-election as Director. Her chances are somewhat slim, though. The UGP's inaction against the Perrachi has diminished her political support.

Lechaso Stauis of the UGP for Chief of Management and Budget.

Guegxi Kep of the UGP for Chief of Transportation. Very suitable candidate; the UGP is famous for its advanced transportation technologies, especially their remarkably fast and efficient warp drive.

Nedt Ngertl of the UGP for Chief of Support Services.

I strongly encourage everyone to put forth multiple candidates for the positions that are not yet filled or being contended for, and have those already in more minor posts run for re-election.

This subsection is dead. It's a small band of us doing this for the sake of doing it at this point. The people who come into this section are pretty much me, Yuu, Kitkat, Crazen, UFOking, and you.
The creativity ain't gonna get rewarded any time soon. The crash of Spore kinda put this section in post-apocalyptic times.  :-\
Then I suppose we really need to band together, huh?

ANYWAY, please continue.
