Hey, four days is still plenty of time. But if MacWorld really was it then we know their definition of a "hard" release date means no release date at all.

Most of the info in that piece was copied from older material... like pre-September 2007 articles.  It doesn't mean any more than that other Spore for Mac article that said "after tide pool is tribal".  ::)

Not much more to say, wait for announcements like that from EA. When is their next Fiscal announcement? That's when the most bad information comes...

Well, anyway, back to that letter, we are now at January 22 with only 9 days left until the end of January, so not much time to make their huge "hard" release date announcement.

Someone needs to make a "Was Macworld really it?!" poll.

If that was the supposedly "hard" release date I'll really be dissapointed, especially since we already figured that much out.

Nah, a hard release date is a single day, not a broad estimation.  We've had plenty of those in the past, so I think the fact that we've been told an official date is coming means that we'll have a real date to look forward to.

I know, that's what I've been telling myself. Doesn't help much. >.>

Well, ummmm....for lack of better words I must say I didn't see that coming. Spore on Mac, jump to any stage freely, what's next? Making a species out of cheese?

Wait...that would be tasty.

Did everone forget? Unless they announce the release date(which should have been 4 hours ago) we can be certain this was NOT the big announcement.

Console Games / Dragon Ball Z: Super Budokai
« on: January 14, 2008, 05:50:49 pm »
Yes, it's here already. Dragon Ball Z: Super Budokai, the first 8th generation Dragon Ball Z game, on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. And by the looks of it the Budokai series fighting system has returned, buffed up to next-gen levels. What does everyone think about this? Oh, and this will be known as Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit in Japan.

The official release date of Spore will forever be regarded as a holy day. If it comes out on a school day I'll just have to skip in order to honor it. >.>

But seriously, an official release date(hopefully the same thing for the editor as well) is really what everyone needs right now. We are kind of turning into Spore-deprived zombies.

All hail 2008! The year of SPORE!
All hail(hopefully) April or May! The possible months of SPORE!
Huzzah!

I dunno, I still think my idea would be fun. Sling-shotting a meteor at whatever's planet and watch them send out a little spaceship to try to blow it up before it obliterates their own world. Or they'd just sit there and do nothing, which could be kind of boring.

At the very least there should be some sort of Meteor Apocolypse scenario in the late Civ stage. >.>

Hmm...

How about flinging meteors at planets to see how a species would cope with it? My own personal Judgement Day. Those that stop the meteor get to live and those that fail...well...the meteor did my work for me. I just go around doing that to any species that could possibly stop it.

Now I just need to hope:

A. There are meteors
B. You can direct thier path.
C. The A.I. can do something about it.
