goat cat grass feed, regrow never.

building in two halves, with the top being craned in from above a maountainside. it's liquefying, it's liquefying!

a friend, the stableboy, who refuses to talk as friends when working or during work hours. fetch me a 25 gallon barrel of horse oil from the stableman.

i would like horse oil.

i had two coins and a bill and a smaller coin, but he only takes the two coins.

thanks, people always think you get the other barrels of this oil when you come here, but these are smaller barrels. it's a small can actually.

boy apprentice instrument engineer.

boy boy not interested.

boy boy boy who would want to join you guys? not me!

i've played probably eight hours of this game, but i haven't made any progress! i can't even tell you what the game is about, because i get beat up by the villagers before i get far into the story. i'm trying to play without saving, so this might be my problem. it's somewhat of a mystery. there is a plague, or some secret, or some thing you must accomplish, but you have no idea what it is, so you must play the story and do some things. 10/10 description-it's a real survival game, so you'll be dying quite often. i'll try again tonight with saving...

i didn't die, but the soylent god is angry with me.

apparently i have gastric dumping syndrome, so when i drink soylent it just bypasses my stomach. i stopped soylent, because i felt it happening as i drank the stuff, like a cold snake wiggling into your abdomen. i become hypovolemic and hypoglycemic as a result of the insulin dump and had fire-rrhea within one or two hours.

i pretty much knew all this at the time, but i was just too afraid of dying to push on. i only have nine days of soylent left, so i'll give it a shot.

wikipedia is my god:
Gastric dumping syndrome, or rapid gastric emptying is a condition where ingested foods bypass the stomach too rapidly and enter the small intestine largely undigested. It happens when the small intestine expands too quickly due to the presence of hyperosmolar (having increased osmolarity) contents from the stomach. This causes symptoms due to the fluid shift into the gut lumen with plasma volume contraction and acute intestinal distention.[1] "Early" dumping begins concurrently within 15 to 30 minutes from ingestion of a meal.[1] Symptoms of early dumping include nausea, vomiting, bloating, cramping, diarrhea, dizziness, and fatigue. "Late" dumping happens one to three hours after eating. Symptoms of late dumping include weakness, sweating, and dizziness. Many people have both types. The syndrome is most often associated with gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y) surgery.

Rapid loading of the small intestine with hypertonic stomach contents can lead to rapid entry of water into the intestinal lumen. Osmotic diarrhea, distension of the small bowel (leading to crampy abdominal pain), and hypovolemia can result.

In addition, people with this syndrome often suffer from low blood sugar, or hypoglycemia, because the rapid "dumping" of food triggers the pancreas to release excessive amounts of insulin into the bloodstream. This type of hypoglycemia is referred to as "alimentary hypoglycemia."

tomorrow i'll try mixing solid oats into the soylent along with some salt. i have fiber gummies, so i'll chow down on a couple beforehand as well.

Check in with your doctor just to be sure things are good before you continue this.

i might end up doing that eventually if it persists

i think the tremendous portions of soylent that i initially had might have contributed, maybe i had excess glucose in my urine as a result of the big meals or something?  and the bacteria just had a ball with that?  i have no other problems, pains, and it was only on 2 occasions, so i'm not actually worried.

edit:  okay, of course i'm worried, but not enough to visit the doctor just yet.

Wow this is way more interesting than I thought it'd be.

i have had a few worries here and there, and i always think i'm finally adjusted, when suddenly something new appears.

a few days back, and then yesterday, i've noticed correctly colored, but cloudy, urine.  to make it worse, yesterday it stung somewhat.  i have no disease which would normally cause this, so i'm hoping it was just some fluke soylent side-effect.

i stopped with the oatmeal, instead opting for some fruit thoughout the day.  the oatmeal was only worsening the soylent gas.  i plan on stopping the fruit and going 100% soylent after a while.  no bowel problems at all anymore.

i also started to make soylent with added table salt and less water.  i have been forced to spread the soylent out throughout the day, and i drink 3 meals now.  this was after i self-diagnosed rapid gastric emptying ... it was very weird, very uncomfortable, and very painful.  it was resolved with smaller meals.

i seem to be finally adjusted now.  i started exercising near the intensity of when i was in bootcamp, so i hope to not gain much weight and instead become fitter.  i feel pretty great... i'm really hoping others try soylent.  i might re-order before the end of the month if things continue as smooth as they are now.

You need a new scale, Pik.
i need lots of new things

here's an update

weight 155 lbs / 70 kg

no more bowel problems after including a small bowl of oatmeal + orange in my diet, will from here on attempt just oatmeal, because oranges taste pretty good and i'm starting to enjoy this bland-tasting everything experience... the cardboard/cookiedough shake, mmm yummy

i discovered the best way to create my daily batch of soylent:

hot water into pitcher, then soylent powder and oil, shake for a minute, then add ice.  the clumps are almost nonexistant now.  i also pour with the pitcher barely open, to further strain clumps.  very smooth and at the same time thick.

i've had a sort of dull headache for the past 2 days.  it's not a headache, but it always feels weird starting at midday.  i'm hoping it's the decreased sodium in the soylent diet, so i'll be swallowing some salty water starting today.  going to start with half a teaspoon of tablesalt / 3g tablesalt (1000ish mg of sodium) for the next 2 days.

06 - 156 lbs / 71 kg
07 - 156 lbs / 71 kg
08 - 156 lbs / 71 kg

call scooby and the gang, i've got a mystery

i weigh 144 lbs right now, i know the previous 156 was after drinking the morning soylent meal, but what the heck happened? i admit i haven't ever weighed myself throughout the day, but even then, 12 lbs seems a little extreme to be a normal fluctuation.

right now, i'm going to drink the rest of my soylent, some water, and then reweigh myself.  will report back with the change.

i now weigh 157 lbs, good lord, 13lbs of soylent and water account for the loss

nevermind. the scale had to have been off, but i left it recalibrate and repeatedly got 144 lbs, so i'm not sure what happened.  it seems the soylent only weighs like 3lbs

Buy some peppermint tea, it's tasty and good for bowels.
(thanks for all the tips, guys, I'll work on this)

I hope your pain and torment lets up, dude.
well, i'm not absolutely sure it was the oatmeal + orange i added yesterday, but it wasn't burning this morning, and felt like a 4 on the bristol scale

i'm going pure soylent today to verify the improvement isn't just a phase.  i'm almost positive it isn't, but pure soylent is a perfect dream, so i'm willing to give it another shot

Are you weighing yourself daily?
yes, and while there hasn't yet been a single pound difference, i'm anticipating some weight gain in the long run

06 - 156 lbs / 71 kg
07 - 156 lbs / 71 kg
08 - 156 lbs / 71 kg

the fullness after drinking soylent is unpleasant. i suppose i'm overly conscious of the water, i feel like a waterbed, i've never drank this much before.  i might eventually try the 3-meal daily plan

It burns?
very much so, i'm thinking soluble fiber will help, which is why i ate some oatmeal and fruit today.  i'll discover tomorrow if that helps any.

Does it give you the runs or constepate?

diarrhea, yes
