Plants use photosynthesis to harvest energy from the sunlight and turn it into glucose.  The cycle used to create this glucose doesnt give off enough energy for active lifestyles though.  A plant would also need a lot of mitochondria to become active creatures.  They would still be able to do photosynthesis, but they would then be able to quickly use the glucose that they made, giving them more energy and potentially enabling higher functions such as thinking and movement.  Movement would require a revamp of the plant's system though, because it would now need muscles.  The problem with this is that once the plant starts to move around, its roots will become obsolete.  The roots are how the plant gets its water and minerals.  This could be overcome if there was another method of obtaining nutrients.  Water can be gotten easily enough in a puddle.  The venus fly trap, a carnivorous plant, only digests its prey for its Nitrogen, which the plant does not have access too because of poor soil.  Nitrogen could still be gotten through some sort of method like this that the plant could develop.  Following this model, a sentient and movable plant could be established...

Some real-life problems would be that the muscles would need a way to quickly get energy, hence a complex circulatory system would need to be built.  This would also be needed to sustain the brain, which uses as much as 25% of the energy in a human and would presumably do the same in a sentient plant.

So essentially what you would have is a plant with many of the same organ systems that a normal animals have...  And it would still probably be weaker and less active than an animal. 

Hmm...  Maybe they should try to finish it for PC before they start worrying about other systems... 

I dont think this means that it will come out any faster.  It only means that they wont make it for other platforms, but the bottom line is that they still have to build the game itself.  Changing it for another platform is just a few interface and control changes, nothing serious.

This is still good news, however, because PC > Consoles

Lets observe fellers. Okay, what do we really know about inner core physics of a gas giant? Nothing much. Well imagine bacteria evolved there and started to reproduce. Well you know the story. Anyways, they become multicellular, but because they are based of different elements, or they evolved completely different from our evolution they handle the radiation (well if you observe cockroaches they do too). Then the high gravity: Hmm, well maybe those creatures are extremely light, or they somehow are made of 90% gas, just as we are made up of 85% of water. Their physics would be completely different from us but it is possible. Anyways, to the point that they colonize other planets. hmmm maybe they just send a big shipment of gases on this planet to make it habitable to them....
I believe it would be possible but extremely difficult to implement into the game.

That brings about another problem.  For creatures such as humans, we need water to survive.  Many planets have ice that we can harvest and use to sustain life.  For a creature from a gas giant, they may not need water at all, but instead a very gaseous environment.  Unfortunately, finding a planet with an atmosphere thick enough to sustain them would be a challenge and also the atmosphere may have the wrong composition of elements that makes it unlivable. 

As some of you have suggested, if you do not get the last tier of the brain, you can stay in creature phase.  If you stay in this phase for a really long time, can you just continually evolve and grow bigger and meaner with more hands and weaponry and stuff?  If you stay long enough, could you theoretically evolve into a huge mass of limbs and claws?  That would be fun.
