Title: Nuke's Creations
Post by: nuclearchinchila on June 22, 2006, 07:13:49 pm
Hey guys!  I'm new to this forum but not so much to Spore.  I'm mainly a part of www.xSpore.com but this forum seemed alot larger and I have alot of creature designs and figured this would be the place to get the most feedback.  So here they are:

unnamed
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Bug01.jpg)

Eutawkentoomee
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Eutawkentoomee.jpg)

Torza
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Torza.jpg)

Thungan
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Thungan.jpg)

Quatriomite
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Quatriomite.jpg)

Bulkadon
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Bulkadon.jpg)

Jaw-Tailed Boogle
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/sporeentry01.jpg)

Gurgasaur
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/sporeentry02gurgasaur2.jpg)

Now these ones I can't take complete credit for, they were drawn for certain creature-games at xSpore.com

Hunta
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/Hunta.jpg)

Garkan(before evolving)

unnamed
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/ChallengeCreature2.jpg)

Jugger Ray
(http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d173/nuclearchinchila/ChallengeCreatureColor1.jpg)

Spore dice game creature (roll a dice for 6 different body parts and each number you roll is the number of body parts you have to put on the creature)

Thanks for taking time to check out this thread and if you guys like em I may come back and update with more.  I also have some vehicle designs but they aren't as finalized as these. Compliments and Critques are all welcome! ;D

these are cool. Which dice game did you use to make the one near the bottom? Cuase there is a nice dice game on this forum already and even a program.

Much sweetness abound. Been a while since I've seen any new really talented artists around here. No offense to all you other losers.  ;D The Torza seems familiar to me for some reason. All of 'em way cool.

I used a Dice game I made in the xSpore forums( http://www.xspore.com/community/showthread.php?t=67 ), it didn't seem to catch on though.  xSpore doesn't have enough artists to have kept it going

sure I'll take requests, just as long as you don't mind it being colored in pencil.  I can give you a blank version without any color if you want so you can color it or someone else.

Great, I don't mind it being pencilled. You will get a PM soon (Somewhere today).

A little warning
If you get overflooded with requests, just say so, and peeps here will know.

Try doing the Omic please  :)
Title: Re: Nuke's Creatures
Post by: nuclearchinchila on June 28, 2006, 09:17:11 am
Two more:
The Bekkara (Beck-car-ah)

The Bekkara are a carnivorous creature that live on a very warm planet covered with African-like prairies all along it's equator and more tropical forests the further you are from the Equator.  The Bekkara live mostly on the prairies and use their frog-like tongue to capture large insects, some tree-dwelling creatures and even low-flying bird-like creatures.

The Klorkaun (Clor-Kwan)

The Klorkaun are a semi-intelligent race.  They are currently in the Tribal phase but are far from establishing large cities.  Their torsos are kept within the large beak-like structure on the front of their body.  Two large holes are placed on either side of this beack so that the Klorkaun can see out and also breathe.  The Klorkaun only open their beaks to eat, bathe and to converse.

Oh and Alwayswatching, your Omic will be coming shortly.  I drew it pretty small but it should still look good.

First Update in a while!

1 Oogas:  A cycloptic mammalian creature that lacks a sense of smell or sound.  They're arms are made up of segmented bones much like a spine.  Oogas thrive by being in large packs of multiple families and staying at the upper canopy of the jungles they live in.  They have a heightened sense of sight, they can see the veins in a plant leaf from 300 yards.  Oogas eat mostly fruits, bugs and the occasional small bug or critter.  They're favorite food is the Booga fruit, pictured above.

2 Quanks:  Aquatic and aerial beasts that have a large range of prey and a very short list of predators.  They're ability to change from swimming to flight makes them perfect for avoiding any attack by a possible predator since most other creatures cannot swim and fly.  Quanks are completely carnivorous and eat mostly aquatic creatures that dwell near the surface of the water.

3 Jits:  Small insect-like creatures that often dwell in very shallow waters or puddles.  They mostly eat soil and anything they find in it, pulling out it's nutrients.  They're single stalk with an eye allows them to avoid being eaten by they're predators that dwell above the water or at least see what's eating them before they die.

4 Flarks:  A strange omnivorous creature, flarks are known for they're odd tubular growths that protrude from their bodies.  The one located on the front of the body is for consuming food such as small bugs or foliage.  Every single one of the other tubes though contains olfactory glands, hearing organs and small air-pouches that push air through the tubes to make trumpeting sounds.  Flarks live in herds and mostly hide themselves in their swamps and are rarely seen.

Hope you guys liked em!  As always comment and tell me what you think, I'll hopefully start drawing and posting more frequently.

So in another spore forum Josasa has this game running where people vote on how a creature evolves and then once it evolves, on how a tribe of the creature acts and so forth and so on.  I was the thread's artist and got to draw the stages of it's evolution(the creature is called the Garkan).  Now, I was kinda lazy and hadn't drawn for a while but Josasa PMed me asking for me to draw it's final stage so I did and then I stuck all the 4 stages I had drawn together to show it's evolution so here it is...

Holy Moly, it's been waaaaaaaaaaay too long!  After watching all the new spore videos I got all tingly with girlish gitty excitement again and doodled a dangerous duo.  Ok, not so dangerous but they are some cool little creatures if I do say so myself:

The one on the left is what I call a Gargalor, cuz it has not muscles to pull food down it's throat it must keep it's neck straight-up and chew thoroughly so all the food slides down smoothly.  The guy on the right, well, just don't pet him.

I have this idea for another thread that's specifically for creatures that are based off of the parts you see in the creature editor pics and made to appear as if you could actually make them for-sure once Spore comes out.  I notice alot of creatures around here and alot of them seem like they won't be quite the same or possible(cough*Naucean*cough:  No offense Hydro, your Nauceans kinda started it all and I love em) with the creature editor.

Whaddya all think?

Title: Denizens of Omni Vita
Post by: nuclearchinchila on March 17, 2007, 01:02:53 pm
In an unusually large and life-filled solar system called Omni Vita, on the third(out of 32) planet from the central sun there is a plethora of amazing creatures...

1. Sperk:  A small omnivorous creature that seems to have the bare minimum of everything; one eye, one ear, one feather and one pair of legs.  It makes up the bottom of the food chain and is the number one consumed organism on Omni Vita 3, good thing too since it's estimated that 500 sperks hatch every half hour.
2. Hoshern:  A medium sized herbivore that packs quite a punch.  The hoshern is a herding creature and is qutie good at defending itself with its large array of spikes atop its head.
3. Gulbar:  The most unevolved piece of slime to ever make it past the 5 minute mark in all of evolution's history.  The Gulbar has remained in the same basic form ever since it crawled forth from the primordial ooze 2.8 billion years ago and somehow it hasn't died off yet.  Its continued existence is most likely due to its main source of food, the massively reproductive sperk.
4. Shornador:  On of the most intelligent creatures of Omni Vita 3, shornadors are very social creatures and eat mostly leaves and the occasional aquatic creature or pathetic gulbar.  They have the most advanced eyes and can see really really far away which is what keeps them from being easy prey, well that and the giant spiked tail and talons.
5. Flobbaron:  As opposed to shornadors, the flobbaron is probably one of the dumbest creatures of Omni Vita 3.  It may have more eyes than the shornador but it hasn't quite figured out how to focus them all on the same thing yet, making it very flighty, fidgety and prone to fits of ADD.  Though it may be pretty dense it is one of the big hunters due to its astronomical running speed and the super sharp talon hanging from under its mouth.

Hopefully these are better than the last batch. yah p-luke you were right, the last batch wasn't quite to up to par.  What do you guys think?

Title: Foliage of Omni Vita 3
Post by: nuclearchinchila on March 18, 2007, 11:42:07 am
Hey thanks for all the comments guys!  Glad you liked em, now for a slightly less exciting update: foliage!

1 Ulbaw Tree:  Dominating most of the forests this tree is anchored in place by a bulb-like underground structure as large as the bulbous end above ground.  It goes through a 2-part cycle; in the first it gathers massive amounts of nutrients into it's upper bulb for up to 4 years and then has 1 year of constant blooming where it's small green buds burst open and send seeds flying so fast they've blinded more than a few helpess sperks.
2 Swyral Flower:  A rare flower that lives only to bloom once before it releases it's seeds, the swyral flower is one of the favorite snacks for lucky herds of hoshern.
3 Bolular Tree:  Found only in the tropic regions the bolular tree blooms in much the same way as the swyral flower but will bloom multiple times.  The large hollow areas are often home to small critters who in return, fight off other creatures who would harm the bolular tree.
4 Sperkberry Plant:  The sperkberry plant's lot in life is to feed the mass population of sperks, and the sperks love the berries.  The seeds inside do not get digested though, the sperks usually excrete them with a nice amount of fertilizer, spreading the sperkberry plants wherever they go.  The plant has evolved the spikes to prevent animals like the hoshern from eating the berries and digesting the seeds within.
5 Flagreaf:  The most common plant on Omni Vita 3, it is found all across the landscape in a variety of subspecies.  The plant usually never grows above one foot tall and is great at absorbing sun beams through it's flat, horizontal and circular leaves.  It's the main food source of most of the grazing animals.

**I promise to make the next update something more exciting than plants, probably more creatures or maybe some technology.  idk yet**

No, the exploding bulb idea is still yours.  If you reread the description it says that the small green buds(the little specks on the trunk of the ulbaw tree) are what pop open to send seeds flying.

Yay more creatures!

1. Tawkaw:  A fierce pack-hunter the tawkaw moves itelf swiftly over open areas and shallow water with it's three legs, all positioned in a single row.  The outer legs are synchronized with eachother while the central leg steps while they are up and vice versa.  It's tail is ended in a large claw-like appendage that it uses when about to catch it's prey.  The tawkaw will jump and swing itself to one side in mid-air and the end of the tail will lash out and snap onto it's prey.
2. Gublet:  This resident of shallow streams and swamps is quite hard to catch.  It hops around quite quickly and it's 4 eyes make sure it hops before it gets hopped on.  On the occasion that a gublet is caught it often batters it's captor's face with it's spiked tail until the gublet is let go or finally loses its capacity to put up a substantial defense.
3. Slurkwamp:  This many-eyed  carnivorous beast often does not move for days or weeks at a time.  It resides underneath the water in deep swamps or small lakes and will not lift it's maw out of the water unless it needs to breath or it finds something good to catch above.
4. Ottaclot:  The tall, graceful herbivore known as the Ottaclot is a very distant relative of the hoshern.  It is most often found in pairs and has adapted to feed on the taller plants of Omni Vita 3.  The placement of it's antlers do not help it very much to ward of predators but, strangley enough, the antlers are home for a certain creatures that builds its nest in them and in return this creature will often eat any residue on the ottaclot and help ward off predators.

NOTICE:  Hey, if anybody wants they can take any of the other 31 more planets in the Omni Vita system.  The idea behind it is that all the planets hold some kind of life, whether it actually be on their surface or be on one of their moons.  If anybody wants to, just PM me and tell me which number you want and what kinda planet you want to make it (ice, hot rock, gas giant, earth-like).  I find it really nice to just choose one planet because then you can make whole biomes that could possibly interact and support themselves, I find it alot more interesting than just updating with a random creature ever so often.  If you take a planet try to make all of your creatures capable of being made in the spore editor(I wanna show a large diversity of creatures, all of which can actually be made once spore comes out).  There is to be no RPing in the Omni Vita system.  (Yah, I know not many ppl will probably will do this but I'm hoping for maybe one or two people who'd want to take over a planet so we can build our own solar system and hopefully make it when spore comes out)

Cool creatures, both in the newest update, and all of your stuff!  I'm not sure how I missed this thread before.  I really like the Klorkaun from earlier.
I prefer making a lot of creatures over going into great detail on just one, too.  I might take you up on that planet offer.
