40 bucks is the standard price for the DS line of game, none the less that's one kick ass deal. Definitely gonna get the jump on that =D

My only 2 complaints are that when bad people take the shock traps for capture quests and do them at the wrong time and you just happen to have forgotten yours and all the people that knock you over with moves they shouldn't really use (like the rising cut on switch axe and great sword)

Oh my god, THIS. Yes. Thank you. For the most part though I always bring a pit fall and shock just in case, because there's always some idiot who gets killed twice and I have to resort to a capture. During capture quests though, we usually rape the monster enough to use the trap and tranqs then and there.. depends on the team though. When I'm helping noobs I usually dumb down my weapons so they just don't leech from me and not learn a damn thing out of the experience. Granted, the upswings have been rare; I tend to keep my distance. And when I use the upswing I do my best to keep out of the way of other hunters but still attacking a vital part of the monster.. but I never go switch axe unless I really have to (and considering how annoying of a weapon it can be, rarely is an understatement.)

you should consider getting a lagiacrus set ultramarine, I don't know how I ever did water fights without olympic swimmer or having my elemental heavy weapons get insane boosts from the ele attack up. The Los and Lagi sets also compliment nicely if your doing land fights or water fights, I usually swap them around (So tempting to do a 5 minute rathian with lagi armor but getting 2 shotted from fireballs isn't fun)

Investing in that set as we speak actually, I LOVE the skills you get from Lagi, and to make it perfect all I need is fire res +10 and something else that stacks well (so far I have just a fire res +10 and clust attk + 3 v.v or something along those lines). For the most part though, aside from Olympic swimmer, I'm mostly looking forward to awaken. I'm still pretty attached to my current set though: Dober Helm, Bna+ Chest, Dober vambraces, Bna+ waist and legs. I had to BS some of my skills in but luckily got my hands on a crit draw + 7 talisman which helped me complete my set; skills consist of: Crit Draw, Marathon Runner, Status Attack up, Razor Sharp, Dragon Resistance +10 and Fishing Expert <--- the last being a fluke since it was part of my talisman. I was hoping for Crit draw and stam +4 but so far I have no such luck :L otherwise I'd gem it out for dragon defense. Despite the -19 to fire it's rather versatile of a set, even for Alatreon. His dragon punch does basically 1/18 damage to my overall health =D

But yeah, it all depends on your stats and evasion skills, because I've managed to take out a thian + solo with that set and a GS and took barely any damage till the jho decided to troll.

barioth has trouble hitting you if you stay really close to him actualy, somewhere behind his arms is best
also, every time after an attack he repostitions himself either once or twice, cant remember. but following that patern is a nice way to like, time your attacks

just prepare with some nice stamina items so it doesnt run out as fast and you should be fine

oh and use some traps and bomb his face to cut the battle in half

Very true, but Barioth is EXTREMELY temperamental so that strategy won't always work. He's basically the Nargacuga on steroids when it comes to speed. On the brightside though, his fits of rage don't last long and the fact that he has to quarter turn each time to attempt an attack makes dodging him a easy if timed correctly. Oh and I also advocate the use of bombs, you can never have enough when it comes to Bari.

Guess they wanted to give everyone a fair chance at taking him on... though that sounds like a great recipe for rage quits (which I've seen plenty of each time this sandstorm shows up..

I usually go Los, simply because of my critical eye+ 3 and fencing (really comes in handy). Haven't given Lagi a try though, speaking of which I need to make the high rank version of that.

not to mention randoms are terrible at not dying >.>

Depends on where you go and who you're with, I usually have a few trust worthy buds and at least one random guy take it on. Provided they've actually fought one before. Failures with Jhen and Jhen+ have been rare these days, I can only relate to a degree. Had the same guy die twice during the HIGH high rank "Double Trouble" mission, and almost died myself since the other two were screwing around with their eggs and no providing back up. I mean sure I can solo los+ easily but with BOTH him and his bitchy girlfriend tag teaming it was proving difficult to gain the upper hand.

EDIT2: And the word censor is retarded. I can't say "after".

That's everyone's gripe, but from what I've heard the word is apparently profane in another language... German I think? Not entirely sure but there's also some odd cases..

Framerate, admin, and administrator are blocked but douchebag, retarded and puto (yes it's a slang term but seriously, how does one get away with that?) aren't... Whomever came up with the censorship system were high off their ass. What makes it more funny is that even before you make it online it mentions that server updates are constant.. it's been out for this long and they haven't taken notice to this? BS.

Also for your sake Gauph I suggest you stay off for a few days till this Jhen Mohran event dies off. The server has been acting nuts, randomly kicking people left and right, just an hour ago I was in the middle of a Lagiacrus quest and the next thing you know my partners got kicked. I soon followed suit with the connection error.. so yeah, offline play would be a good idea.

1: I'm having a hard time trusting people lately. That includes myself. Do you know how impossible it is to predict whether or not you're part of a government conspiracy against yourself? Yes, I know all of this sounds dumb. So does everything else I actually somewhat care about.

Putting yourself down won't help much :x and no it's not stupid, a bit... paranoid maybe. You just have to relax, it's the media; sure things like that are possible but very unlikely. And I don't know why, but this totally reminds me of Inception.

2: Engineering Foundations 2. Oddball assignments, a teacher that seems to explain nothing, not even to the kid who sits across the class from me who is failing, and projects that most 14-year-olds shouldn't even know how to complete unless they're at a college-level intellect.

Uh, switch classes maybe? I assume the first semester isn't over yet, and even if it is you can be placed in a lower class. Either that or ya know, talk to the teacher, counselor or even the principal about the issue. Don't just sit there and expect the problem to fix itself, do something about it. And to be honest, college work and highschool differ just slightly; if anything its an exaggeration.

3: There's this kid in school who seems to always know exactly where I am at any given moment, even when we're not in school.

Punch him in the jaw. Make it aware that you want your space <_< either that or outright ask him why he's basically stalking you; latter options are to make it known to an adult or just tell him to **** off.

4: Excercise. It just isn't working out for me. It's more like preform hours of strenuous activity every day and achieve absolutely nothing. Even back when I excercised for two hours a day in elementary school, I couldn't do a signle pushup. Now that my muscles are developing, I can do about 2. Is this biological, or do I really suck this much?

Well considering your age and the fact you mentioned your now apparent muscle growth, no, you don't suck. It's called puberty. With all of the changes things you couldn't do before you can do now. And while 2 push ups is something to snuff at, it's still an improvement. Meaning.. well... you know where I'm going with this: Practice= perfection of said technique. In time, exercise and a steady diet you'll be able to do much more then you thought you were previously capable of. Not saying you'll be the hulk or anything.

Hrm. I think that's it.

Nor can any amount of hatred banish me from this location.

We don't hate you, you're just annoying a good portion of the time. If you were meant to be outed you would have been banned ages ago. But I digress; you'll be fine, the internet is not a giant hate machine, we're just as human as you... except for Pat <_< being the equivalent to jesus and all.

And why does everyone hate Flisch?

He's fine.

Just messin with him obviously.

Also, it should have added a water stage and the option for entirely airborne life. I mean, entirely airborne life exists, right?

The main issue with both of those ideas is the fluidity of controls when dealing with 3 dimensions. Sure it seemed quite possible in the GDC 05 demo, but it was only briefly used so the full extent of the stage (the pros and cons) weren't shown. It's not an impossible concept and I personally really wanted to see underwater environments, but I'm pretty sure it was an issue with the devs. Another possible reason could be budget cuts or votes from the Spore team vetoing the idea. As for sky cities and what not I guess it was thrown out due to programming issues or the lack of realism. Eh, I can't really speak for them so those are just my best guesses.

And yes there are airborne bacteria, more or less within the clouds IE water droplets but as for entirely airborne life I'm not so sure. That might actually be situated in the realm of science fiction actually.

Nah, over-optimism is a sign of insanity in these conditions.

@Louis, Ellis, and Coach.

So you expect everyone during a zombie apocalypse to act in a vain and negative manner, and THAT'S what you define as sane? Get real. Not every person is going to follow that formula, obviously; have you even considered the background of said characters?

Louis and Coach are the real mental ward-worthy guys though.

Yeah, because a guy that used to have a day job in the office with some minor shooting skills and a retired football coach who cheers on for victory in even dire conditions are ward worthy.
