Gamefly is terrible but I probably still save more money with it than buying/trading in all the video games I want to try

Don't know what level of marketing you're doing but a poll on an internet message board isn't a good way to get a good market sample (either in size or accuracy)...

I picked Action...

Console Games / Re: XBOX 360 Controller on a PC?

Wireless controllers do not work.  There is no information passed between the cable with the play and charge kit - it only provides power.

There is a cheap money making move accessory planned to allow all wireless 360 accessores work with a PC.

Not me.  And I'm still not buying the hype - I need to play it before I'm convinced.

"Build it yourself" will get you the absolute most bang for the buck... especially since you're not paying anyone to do it right and guarantee that it's right for a year or more.

I've heard mixed reviews on http://www.ibuypower.com.  They have a lot of bang for the buck but their service can be real bad.  I've also heard they're late a lot on their shipments.  They're cheap but you get what you pay for...

http://www.tigerdirect.com has some nice barebone kits.  What's nice about the kits is that you build it yourself (so it's cheaper) but a lot of the decisions have been made for you so you don't have to spend a lot of time researching compatibility.  They're typically not complete so you can rip off parts off your old machine to save money or buy specific parts that suit your needs (like video cards)

Dells are very upgradable.  However, changing the motherboard will void your warranty.  Anything else like the video card is fair game.

Oblivion is pretty substantial but I don't see it as the kind of game that can make/break a console.  I think Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 is the much bigger steal for today's news.

Everything Else / Re: what is this with hybrid cars?
« on: September 26, 2006, 06:47:29 pm »
I recently helped someone buy a car.  I did the math and over 6 years for two identical models, it was cheaper to buy a fossil fuel car and more gas than it is to pay the premium for a hybrid car and buy less gas - this included inflation and the time value of the premium.

Gas isn't too bad around these parts ($2.50, I pay more for Starbucks) so it could be more economical in other places in the world.

Also, train's arent electric because electric engines have more power.  It's they can always be connected to a power source.

I played the demo and didn't like it...  The camera when paragliding is really jerky so it's hard to control where you want to land.  The combat is so-so.

I'm getting tired of all these GTA wannabes comming out...

Geometry Wars and Hold'em are the only must haves IMO.

I thought Street Fighter was a must have - I got burned.

I don't see why they wouldn't want to try other systems. A wii remote for a point and click game is like using a hammer to kill a fly...
