An interview with the guys at project offset wouldn't be boring either, or how about Jess from ign? shes a pretty interesting girl!

On the other hand i would just kill for that Jack Thompson.... why not take it all the way and make it a fist fight to the death, we all know how its gonna end anyways:D

Ok, here's my list (in no particular order):
Mulholland drive
The Matrix
The Chef, the thief, his wife and her lover ... Peter Greenaway, this movies is so freaking awesome people..
Barry Lyndon
Clockwork Orange
Fight club
Aliens (the second one in the quadrilogi)
Dogville .. (Lars von Trier a danish director, but Nicole Kidman has the lead role so i guess you guys might know it... by the way this is her best movie.)
Vanilla Sky, im not happy to mention this one since I've got a personal vendetta against Tom Cruise..
Speaking of vendetta: V for Vendetta was fantastic
and of course Citizen Kane

I could keep on mentioning movies but i think this list covers a lot of the aspects in my taste in movies... feel free to comment

dont know if this is off topic but they also use maggots medically to remove dead tissue... im serious! and theyre really effective, the smart thing is that maggots ONLY eat meat that is dead, this leads to using them in grave injuries because they make the infection go away... neat and nasty!

Thanks alot for the very constructive answers! PHI-1618 your post was really really interesting and I'll consider all your suggestions, Im not interested in getting into the industri in the way you're speaking though. The point in this post is if it would be possible to focus purely on the ideadevelopment, i dont know if this is an utopian dream or anything but programming and the like doesnt interest me at all, im the owner of a consulting company and therefore im used to starting projects and then leaving them as is. Most of all im interested in if this is possible to do in the game industry? Or should i just leave this project? after all I've only used 4-6 hours on it...

You said the design is semi-complete, right?

Sending off a semi-complete design to a bunch of companies mightn't be such a great idea, even if you were to make sure your IP is protected. If it's only semi-complete, and it actually manages to get past the secretary, then the gurus could probably just use the bits of it they like most, go in a slightly different direction and steal the idea right from under your nose.

I would suggest fleshing it out a bit more, making sure to get it all down on paper.

Then develop some sort of presentation, possibly a prototype, and make sure you can explain why you think it's a new concept, and why you think it would make money.

Then get your legal issues in order.

Finally, whore yourself to as many companies as you can.

Others might have more to add to this.
Yes, the fleshing out part sounds smart, I've got about 5-6 handwritten pages containing the project, and from that i should be able to make a fair presentation. The only problem is that I've got absolutely no gamedevelopment experience, so i wouldn't know how a presentation like that would look like. Has anyone got a link to something similar, like a video presentation or even better: an actual letter to a developer.

Send it to developers everywhere! Just make sure you make a copy and give it to a lawyer in case one if the dev's attempt to rip off your without even a beta spot or something :)
Ha ha thanks swerv! yeah that would indeed be unfortunate! but does developers have special mail addresses for such stuff, i could imagine that it'll just dissapear if i mail it to their standard secretary...

Hi there guys!
I know that I'm not the most frequent poster but now ill give it a shot! Some friends and I have a habit, this consists of sitting and making theoretical discussions while enjoying a glass of beer, and yesterday the talk landed on the subject videogames... We made a semi-complete game design, with gameplay elements and all other aspects, and its all on paper! so I thought that it would be a waste NOT to send it somewhere but who should I send it to? Ive got absolutely no clue, and since i really enjoy this podcast I suspect that you guys are just the ones to ask!

greetings from Denmark
