Sporedum: SecuRom Removal Program

Well after years of SecuRom, there is now finally a program to remove SecuRom. Midfingr from Reclaim your Game has created a program to remove all aspects of SecuRom from your computer. Here at Sporedum we would like to congratulate them on the brilliant program, and thanks also to SporePrograms which successfully used it on Spore.

More info over at The Prism.

I should add (for those who don't bother clicking on the page and reading), that this should only be used in case you decide to uninstall Spore from your computer (and make sure you don't have any other game that uses SecuROM installed) otherwise it will render the games unplayable and you'll have to reinstall them.

- The server uses a whitelist, if you're not on the whitelist (can't connect), PM me your minecraft name.

Actually that's not the case.  Or for me anyhow.  I ran the tool with Spore installed, it removed all files - even the registeries.  I launched Spore - it takes a bit longer than usually to load but it does open up.  I believe during that time it reinstalls SecuROM on the machine.  After closing and relaunching the game again, it starts right up.

Even if it doesn't do that for Spore, it might for other games. It's not recommended unless you don't have any games with SecuROM installed anymore. (also, did you try uploading stuff, etc after you ran Spore with no SecuROM?)

Haven't uploaded anything after using this tool, but I have uploaded many things after doing the manual removal of files. But again, if Spore detects SecuROM missing, it just reinstalls the files back to their regular place and gameplay is once again normal :)
