Spore: Creation Corner / Random creature drawings
« on: May 07, 2007, 04:38:16 pm »

A headless chicken type of creature the Furans run around fondeling and chewing on all in its path, resulting in high mortality and numerous reports of sexual misconduct.

The lesser Trifoids have been released on this population to help reduce the abuse caused to the inigionus population, their poor camoflage on their home planet nearlly wiped them to extinction, however against the furans lemming style method of survival they have thrived in their new home.

Spore: General / 3rd person control

As We have clearly seen direct control of a creature is possible and as it has been stated you can re-visit any stage, so i presume that means you could also take conrol of one of your many creatures in the tribal/Civ/space stages, much like the dungeon Keeper game way.

Presuming that this is possible, it got me wondering if they would also let you command your robotic creations as well, i would love to set up a battle statagy hit the go button and leap into the contols of a giant robotic rino type thing, smashing through the enemys base for example, or whatever mechanical montrosities you create, Im Backpacking around Australia Atm so ive missed the last 4 months of spore info, hopefully should be back intime for spore off but is there anything i may have missed regarding direct contol of your own army, cause i think it'd be sweet?

No-one (i believe) is atually having a go at you, but if you do say something like that, you cannot expect some laughs, everyone goes through stages in learning and no-ones being critical of that, its human nature to tease at peoples assumptions, especially if it reminds us of our own, its a way of advancing knowlede as its supposed to ensure people are more thourough in their research into things. the reason youve gotten "flamed" as you put it is becasue youve been trying to defend a defenceless argument, and not shown humility.

The physics we are talking about is standard basic electromagnetic physics, which anyone who has a decent education to has had proven 1000x, so par quantum physics its pretty certainly going to constant whatever the situation. Hense why people are so certain. Nothing personal.

Listen to me. I'm saying that if you get close enough to an electromagnetic field generator (Probably something like a cellphone) it will enter your body because of the whole "balance of energy" thing, which is included in one law or another. Now if you convince your body that there is no electromagnetivity in your hand, that means that electromagnetivity will want to go to the hand, since it too believes that there is no electromagnetivity in there, so it must fill the void that is left, even though there already actually is electromagnetivity in there. So it just adds, but the electromagnetivity is still convinced that everything is in balance. Then when the field around you hand comes into contact with the paperclip, it feels the need to balance out the paperclip, and, once AGAIN, voila. Magnetism in your hand.

Quite a good explanation giving the grasp you have on physics, but can i suggest incorperate something like dark-energy (another theory on the expansion of the Universe (anti-gravity)) as it is widly unkown and could be controlled by a duck called Fred and even the most prominent scientist in the world could not argue against the statment, and would certainly move stuff.

Just to clear this up before speculation, there are no fleet or any other non military space faring craft, Ive asked this before and Will has said somwhere that you only get the one ship per civilisation, the posibilities are enormous for space faring ships, it could be a expansion we hope sometime but its not going to be part of the initial game.

10 points if you know where I got the idea for this one:

Would that be the demon out of Spawn perchance?

I don't believe that's it. I believe we can only report inappropriet creature looks. Such as the Wang-Looking creature. So that it won't download to some 11 year old girl's game of spore to interrupt her Galactic Empire of Ballerinas. I know the whole "Game experience may change during online play" thing but there will be somewhat of a filter system as we know people will abuse their creature... looks that is...

That just sparked the question of moderation of uploaded content, there will be thousands of new creatures uploaded each 15 minutes even in lull times and with all the possible varients how can a system recognise and delete creatures that resemble certain shapes? the only fool proof way is for giant teams of moderators to aprove creatures and thats impossible. This whole filteration people talk about can only be the reporting one, any other method is either unreliable or unfeasonable, so whats going to stop offensive, copywrited or otherwise touchy subject matter being transmitted and causing a fuss?

To throw in another senario, providing the editor was of the latest build, it could indicate spore might work like manny other games do and have different settings for how advanced and complicated you wish it to be. This could just show the editor on simple mode, hense simple stats, and a editor that can simply make a rough creature in a few minutes, its only a theory but i would love it if spore had different levels of complication so that you really could spend hours creating a creature, exactly the way you want, and have perfectly defined stats.

Will always said he wanted a editor that people could use to create a basic creature in a few minutes or spend hours on a masterpeice, to do this the editors settings would most likly have to be able to change to cater for the two, dont ya think?

Spore: General / Re: Has spore lost its 'spark'
« on: November 03, 2006, 11:12:33 pm »
For me its losts its spark, all we know about is the editor really and now it just seems mundane. For me the earliest i can own spore is sept 7th 07 as i am going traveling, and that is when i return, im certain it will be out by then but globe trotting for 7 months is sure to help the wait go faster :D

that is all

your banned for exerting to much authority on bannings

Will no one listen to the many voices of reason, There is in no way shape or form a productive result from discussing the release date can come, we all can find out when the last geuss was from EA but as we've experianced that is no certainty, apart from that no beacon of light or new revelation will ocour that will give us a precise date.

Unless somone makes a time machiene and gives us evidence of at what stage what was done, or a memeber form the production team sheds some light, this topic can serve no perpose as we know next to nothing (in reality) of what is going on production wise.

So as manny have said, leave it.

it soesnt ahve to have a story, i think theyll go with the whole: you are a single celled organisim where you go form there is up to you, story as it pretty mcuh encompases what spore is about, then just discussion of the features, you dont need much more than that, a story about a perticular creature would look stupid

I do not see why it requires "belief" theres an undeniable probability, from what we understand about the universe, that extra terestrial life exists, and if so there must be a probability that one of these species could develop space ships that could in theory manipulate or ignore our rules of physics and could feasibly visit Earth. The probability of all of this is low, and our "proof" is so suspect i do not reasonably think that Extra terestrial space ships have visited earth, but i dont ignore the probability that they may. Belief in the way your talking is basically saying ill ignore the off chances and place my bets on whichever argument you feel most compeling.
