Topic: Slife's abominations against nature

Here we go!  Virtually all of these involve glitch abuse (hence the title), so some of these may become invalidated in later versions.  I hope not.  Since my graphics card is pretty awful, I'm not going to embarrass myself by posting loads of images.

First up, the most recent, the Thanren, a medieval knight-based creature.  The helmet was annoying to do, and I'm not sure whether or not removing the eyes was the way to go.  Oh well.

Next up, the Fidachnid.  Another asymmetrical creature.  The camera angle for the image is kind of bad, but the creature itself looks neat.  A sort of spider/fiddler crab hybrid.  With fluffy antennae.


The Thraggard, a humorous creature, comes equipped with a built in politican?  See that "head"?  It contains no brains whatsoever.  That's right, it's a large, vaguely threatening, non-essential, unattached, bloated airbag.  Oh, and noisy.


I made the Riutz as practice for the Thanren.  It's an asymmetrical one-winged angel dinosaur, with a shield on one arm.  The central eye turned out really nicely, so take a look at that.


The Chillasaurus doesn't abuse any glitches.  He just hangs out.  Chilling away.  Nice shades.

I finally got a glitch to work out really nicely.  Behold, the duo extraordinare, the Centurion and the Cardinal.  One's a prehistoric bird with an attitude, one's a reanimated centurion helmet.  Together, they fight crime.

Anyway, it animates well, and the textures work beautifully - it actually looks like two separately skinned creatures.

So, I've been making one creature for a while.  That wasn't enough.

So then I created two creatures at once.  When that proved insufficient I moved onto three.

Well, back from my creature-making hiatus.  Here's a creature with asymmetric limbs!



The running animation turned out really well, as did the spitting animation.



And now, for illustrated creature story time.  Sure to keep your kids quiet*.

Once upon a time there was an ugly little fairy named Sally.  Sally was the ugliest fairy in the meadow, and nobody liked her or wanted to play with her.  On Sally's birthday, her grandmother said that she was going to make her a big cake.  Oh boy!  Sally was so excited.  She waited all day for the cake.  But when night came, her grandmother still hadn't brought her any cake at all.  Her grandmother had forgotten, because Sally was just too ugly.

One day a basilisk came to the meadow.  All the other fairies ran away, but nobody told Sally.  Sally left her hovel to see what the commotion was about.  The basilisk took one look at Sally and dropped dead.

But that didn't matter to Sally, because she was now the ugliest little statue.
