A lot of people seemed to be into it because OMGDINOSAURS but then a buddy of mine also plays it and says it's a really fun game. So I watched him play it and it looks like very pretty, run-of-the-mill early-access poots. WHY!?

Then again, this is the same person that played Rust for way too long before realizing it was junk.

Oh and the reason why I play ARK is that in core is a pretty good survival game that hit on many key features that I want in a survival game. You have the straight up surival aspect which I like. Having to gather food, water and so on. But there tons of game that does this part fairly well. But the game also have a nice way to progress. Learning new crafting recipes as you level up, but more importantly. Letting you find more. Pushing you to explore more. Your also in the hunt for dinos and other animals. Giving even more of a collector feel to it. And I like that. And of course you can build building. Also it updates all the freaking time.

The short answer is that there many small thing that makes me like the game.

well I was "playing" final fantasy type-0 on my pc, but my monitor is having display issues and the new one doesn't arrive until monday from newegg hopefully

I did play a Nubian king once in Crusader Kings 2 and did just that. And beyond. My empire reach up in to Germany (Which I had inherited though some complicated scheming) and I was actually conquering territory in Russia. It was pretty insane.

Btw when you say Merchant Prince do you mean you where a Merchant Republic? Did they add the functionality to create you own republics in the game?
